What's up with the Small Spools?
What's the reasoning behind the smaller spools on the Core and the new Chronarch. Loved the Chronarch B series. Use them alot with 16 pound test for carolina rigging and football jigs. I feel like with the new reels you can only get about 50 yards of 16 pound test on the new ones. Wondering why they would make such small spools. A couple of snags and having to break off and you would be able to spool the reel on a cast. Any reason why they did this? just curious
Re: What's up with the Small Spools?
The shallower spools cast better and want to continue spinning. You move the weight towards the outer part of the spool. Its simple physics.
Personally I would C-Rig with a 200 size reel like the Curado. I like a wider spool for added line capacity. I like to fish the C-Rig with a lot of scope in the line. Maybe thats just me...

Ya, I understand that, I got plently of chonarch b's for all my long cast applications but I was just wondering for a guy who would like to fill his entire line with one model it makes it tough going to the smaller spool for a wide variety of techniques. Anyway, I do have one of the D's on order for pitching plastics. Looking forward to getting a chance to use it. I just love the versatility of the B's and i feel like you lose some of that versatility by going to the smaller spool for bigger lines.
