I am trying to decide what would be better,Changing out my cool hub bearings to conventional grease bearings.
Can anyone let me know how easy or hard the conversion would be or should I stay with cool hubs
Any information would be greatly appreciated

I have had no issues thus far but I am hearing what sounds to me a crackling noise from one of them, Do you know how hard they would be to change out? If so can you give a little information on the process and can I do this in My garage?

Is the Grease Black or Brown...If brown something is wrong. If Black....its another issue.
I wouldn't change them out to the old way...Call the maker of your boat. Tell them the semptoms and maybe they can help you.
If you have a cold....you call either the doctor or the Pharmatist...

Re: servicing cool hub wheel bearings
The oil in the hubs are still dark brownish/black, Thus signifying to me that there is no water intrusion within the bearing assembly.
I haven't had any leaks around the wheel, I will have to disassemble the wheel and check for maybe worn bearings, The trailer is 2004 and it struck me kinda strange that the bearings have gone away so quickly. Any advice on how to get these serviced on my own? (How easy is it to do.)
Thank you very much for your input
I need to get out soon and get wet

Re: servicing cool hub wheel bearings
The bearings really are no different that your old bearings. The difference is the outer cap/lube system. My local NAPA dealer has all the replacement parts, so your area should have a dealer or parts store that can supply you with the seals, bearings, etc that you would need to service them. Bill K
