Original carpet for a 20 yr old Skeeter
Original carpet for a 20 yr old Skeeter
Hey... does anyone know of a kit or set that would be available for an old Skeeter so I can replace the carpet?
As usual, thanks,
Danny

Hey Dan;
I have done several boats to date and it is relatively easy to do.
If you should decide to replace the carpet through a bulk roll let me know and I will be happy to give you a hand in the replacement
Just post a PM and I will get right back with you.

Re: Original carpet for a 20 yr old Skeeter
Hey I just finished my stratos tore the boat completely down and did one door at a time Use DAP Glue in the red can and for prep use "OOPS" trust me pour it on let it sit for about a min. and the old carpet will scrape off like butter. Measure twice and cut once and I use little blue clamps (home Depot) for rolling and tucking all the corners on the doors till the glue dries.
Check out www.pontoonboats.com for the carpet great prices and its 20 oz. Marine carpet same stuff they use at the factory. Take your time and do it right. If you have any questions just PM my wife and I have done a few boats over the years got it down to an art

Not done yet, I Just ordered my new seats and working on my deck extension now.

First off... thank you all for the info and help. Very much appreciated.
I bought an 88 SX175S for $1000 with a blown motor, bought an 04 Merc 115 4-stroke from Angler's Marine, had them install it all for a great price. Now I'm getting into the refurbishing phase. Can't wait to get her wet.
Again, thanks,
Danny

Dom nice job wanna do my skeeter next? Im in the same situation as Dan. So thanks for beating me to this post Dan you have helped me out as well. Is it better to just do the whole boat or should you just do the areas that really need it? And Dom how did you manage to tuck or whatever around the edges???

aNNieNsaLTIE- Thanks
The pics dont do it justice but check it out. I wanted to buy a boat just to get my son Colt who is 9 now into fishing. I wasn't looking to spend alot so one day iI am driving down the road I see this boat It needed some help but I got it for a good deal 2,800 motor had great compression and ran great and the gel coat was in 98% great condition
I get it home and start tearing it down I was just going to replace the carpet
Anyway I remove the carpet and there is a crack in the floor not rot but a crack so called up a buddy and $600.00 bucks and a week later I had a new floor and the boat was completely waxed out
The Prop is a SS prop but had a few dings in it so sent it to Phil's and 100.00 bucks later it looks brand new.
Steering wheel had togo so $40.00 later it new
Do yall see a pattern here?
I replaced both seat base's, 2 x Power pedistals and a nice centric seat for the rear and a new Hammer head seat for the lean seat $300.00
( I had the centric seat already but add another 3 bills for it)
So I am looking on Westernbass and see an advertizer for Wrapped Graphics So I check out the web site and seen he did boats so I took my Cowling to Larry and he is working his magic as I type this hope to have it back by next week.
Etc...
My cheap boat has turned into an obsession
But I am almost done just bought a Maxxum 74 off Delta Dan tonight (Thanks Bro) as soon as my bucket seats get here and a trip to Lyle for a final check over and tune up she will be ready to go

Texas John - 45 degree cut on the corner (like cutting a v out of it ) then rolling under the lip and tuck it in the lip wait till dry and go back and trim I will get a pic up off it tomorrow if you want it.
