Mossdale Marina

Just moved from Oakley to Salida. I believe the closest launch is Mossdale marina. Anybody familiar with this area? Is it a safe place to leave my truck? Im fishing for large mouth bass, what direction should I go from the launch, east, west, north south? Or should I just launch somewhere else. Any help would be great, thanks guys!

If you launch out of Mossdale, don't go any further south than the RR tracks. Although there can be some good bassin' south of Mossdale, the risk isn't worth it unless you're VERY familiar with the river there. The water depth can vary from 20 feet to 8 inches without warning. In fact, since you are not familiar with the area, I would suggest launching elsewhere such as Tracy Oasis or River's End. Good luck.

if u launch at mossdale u better have someone with a 12gauge stay with the truck..neighbors trailer was stolen right off his truck...pay the fee at dos rios(off of lathrop road) or ladds.....jack
