Do you think a catch and kill striper derby is a good idea given that stripers are at all time lows? Not sure how a bait shop benefits from further reduction of an already dwindling population. 8 fish per team? I've been fishing the stripers for 30 years and there are less fish around now than I've ever seen. If we want a future for the striper fishery the recreational anglers need to step up and quit whacking so many fish.

Dan you could be on my team if I was not going to be in az. In our striper derby, we give the boats the option to release fish by having an observer on board to record the measurements and use the forumla lenth x girth x girth /800. We also have a penality for hens killed. You are right, we need to preserve our fishery, who know what the future hold for it
