My understanding is that Steve Sapp has a very sick son and can not devote his time to fishing

Where are the likes of Bill Ponting, Guy Williams, Al Miquiliez and Rex McConnell??

Word has it that the US Spy Satalite that was launched out of March airforce base spotted Bill Ponting last week plopped on his sofa eating Del Taco growing ever bigger, throwing darts at a WON sticker on his wall and watching Bill Dance reruns.
Guy Willaims was last seen in somewhere in SunCity catching bedfish from a local pond wearing his Bass World West shirt.
Al Miquileiz was last seen in a Huntington beach tatoo shop getting the words "salty dog" put on his forearm. Sources say... he was heard screaming ..."I HATE FRESHWATER BASS" as he ran out of said Tatoo shop.
And Rex McConnell was last seen fishing Perris using his Calico rigs. Apparently dude doesnt know the difference between the salt and fresh anymore.....Its all become a haze to him.

:D :) Steve Klein still fishes from time to time. He has 2 teen-age boys and is an active fireman. Seig Taylor fishes occasinaly on Clear Lake. Randy Best hasn't fished tournaments in some time. Haven't heard anything about Casey for some time. Cary Serklew was the rep for Skeeter Boats the last we heard from him. Hope this helps. Bev Payne

Delta Bass,
Steve has been taking care of his son, this is true. The cheating rumor I have not heard, but is not true. Can't a guy take care of his family without someone taking a cheap shot at him on a fishing forum. I think he has enough going on in his life right now. So before you go on a forum like this and start creating rumors you should get your facts straight, because this is how they start.

As I understand the info about Steves son is correct. As for the cheating rumor this was a situation that had about up in a tournament that he was not even fishing. One of his previous team partners fished in a tournament and there was some speculation about "cheating" however it was resolved and found that nothing of the sort had happened. Steve has proven time and again that he can flat out get em and really has no need to try and cheat the system from what I can see.

Agreed, let the man take care of his family matters without the blind kicks to the nooojies.

Carey Serklew is alive and well. Talked with him last week and he's doing great. Between his business and his girls, he doesn't have much spare time to fish.

Charley some of those guys are still around.

Haven't heard from Reichert in some time but I know that Caulfield does speak to him on occasion. I think he is married but doesn't fish much.

Doty is living in So. Cal and is working in the concrete business again.

Greg Hines did come back and fish some FLW stuff just couple years ago. He is still living in AZ and spends a great deal of time hunting.

Gary O is back! He has been fishing some teams at Clear Lake with Dave Simmons and Folsom with Russ West.

Gerzsenyi is living in Del Rio Texas and running a Triton Dealership and guiding down there. Stan is doing really good.

It saddens me to tell you that we lost Gary Thomas and his wife Peggy a couple of years ago when their plane that Gary was piloting vanished in Mexico. I don't think they ever found the plane but they were in bad weather and after weeks of searching they think they may have gone into the water. I really miss Gary (the perch jerker) and his awesome wife Peggy.

Jolin is still in Lakeport and fishing teams, hasn't changed a bit. I left my boat at his house just last week when I was up there fishing with my brother. TJ still fishes some teams with Wally Smith.

Mark Risk is a manager of a boat dealership in Alabama.
Greg Hines runs a wild game processing business and hunting guide service in Arizona.
Buck is still in So Cal. and trying to get back into the swing.
Randy Best is one of my best friends and is doing great. Has a awesome place on the river in Parker, AZ and spends most of his time fishing smallies and river largemouths down there. Also finds time to travel the world with me and a few other knuckleheads in search of various jungle fish like Peacock Bass and Golden Dorado. He can still stroke-em, trust me.
Cary Serklew still hitches a ride with me to various So Cal lakes and is in the Electronics business.
Don Doty lives in Rancho Cucamonga and works for Wayne Carey who owns a huge construction company. Wayne and his son Wes fish FLW and Wayne also has a saltwater charter business.
Bob Simmons has moved to Redding and now is a Shasta regular. Might be doing a few team events, but no big stuff.

All these dudes are fine and can still fish with the best.
