I like that Sunline FC Sniper because it has alot of durability and alot less memory than any of the other Floro's that I have used..

I have only ever used it and it is my understanding that it "may" be made at the same place as many other Japan Floro.

Seaguar InvisX is # 1 and BPS XPS Signature Series is # 2 for me. They are soft, strong and cast well. Price is good as well.
Re: What's your favorite Floro?
BPS. price, manageability, availability, and double reward points nights of course.

Re: What's your favorite Floro?
I really love the seagar invisx in the heavy lines 17 to 25. For light line like 4 to 8, especially the 6lb, the p-line regular flourocarbon has given far superior results. I tried the 6lb seagar when i got low on the p-line and it's coming off as soon as i get a chance. the seagar 6lb keeps making "spider web" like stuff on the spool and up the line.

Re: What's your favorite Floro?
Funny you should say that. My partner is a P-Line guy, and he needed to spool up. I had a bulk spool of 10lb Seaguar, and he tried it twice with lots of line twist on his reel. He spooled up with P-Line for the second day of the tourney and it was better. So I looked at the diameter just for fun, and the P-line was smaller, and more forgiving. Otherwise, I have all Seaguar, but that made me change my mind for 6, and 8 lb...big_limits wrote:I really love the seagar invisx in the heavy lines 17 to 25. Re: What's your favorite Floro?
Have never used floro, but this afternoon when I was on my weekly Costco run I wandered into my local Sports Authority...they had a clearance bin in the front of the store full of fishing stuff, and I spied a spool of Stren Floro, 6#...half price, paid $9.00...guess we'll see what happens. If it turns out to be s***, I'm not out that much...

P-LINE. Abrasion resistance factor; Never had a fish break the line on a hookset to date. I've had other lines break; Sunline, Berkley, BPS and Yozuri-- more than once.

InvisX - but I've never tried any of the super high dollar line. Berkley for me was hands down the worst...
But, you have to be mindful when spooling, and I used to snap the line with palomar knots on hooksets, but since I switched to the improved cinch knot, no more problems. It's actually hard to break off 8 lb when I get stuck on something down there.

Re: What's your favorite Floro?
This topic begins and ends with Seagar. I fished a shared weight pro-am with a guy who asked what line I had to spool with for the event the next day. I told him P-Line, and he asked if I could use his Seagar instead. I was sold after that day. Simply the best I have found. I get more bites, less memory, better durability.......
I know guys who are "sponsored" by other companies that make a floro....and still use Seagar. Nuff said.

Got your PM Rod... I just added the option for Seaguar
For me, it is a great value for a flourocarbon line that I've come to rely on, and it hasn't let me down, even down to 4# test. I'm sure there are many others that are just as reliable, but it is what I've settled on.
I also use BPS flourocarbon, and at times P-Line for my really light needs.
I use a lot of flourocarbon - more than anything else to this point, although I'm starting to gear up with heavier braid now also.

Re: What's your favorite Floro?
I use TORAY Upgrade for most baits that I toss on fluorocarbon, especially 12 lb test for football jigs out deep and the 4.5 lb test for dropshotting shallow and mid depths. The Super Hard Strong in 16 lb and 20 lb test is a great line for flip'in and pitch'in heavy cover. The Super Finesse is for those blue bird high pressure days, when you are just happy to get a few bites. The Super Finesse was designed for fishing clear open water and it only comes in 2 lb to 6 lb test. I've tried a bunch of different fluorocarbon lines over the years, and a lot of the lines already mentioned here are great performers. TORAY is known to be the number one selling an most technologically advanced manufacturer of fishing line in Japan. If you want to try TORAY fluorocarbon line, I will be providing FREE spool ups in the parking lot at the begining of the Vaill Lake Wounded Warrior event May 30th.

Just also added BPS to the list... that is excellent stuff, especially for the price, and scored extremely high in the Tackle Tour tests from a year or two ago.

Re: What's your favorite Floro?
I actually voted for Berkley Trilene 100% FC.
For a long time, almost 10 years now, I have been and am still an advocate of Yamamoto's Sugoi, especially the 20 & 25# variations. It could also be said that I have a biased opinion since I am a long time Yamamoto Pro Staffer. I have tried and played with every FC line I can git my hands on, and I still believe, Sugoi is the best. When it comes down to crunch and money time, Sugoi will be on my line when fishing a jig.
But the poll did not ask for our opinion as to what we though was the best, it specifically asked what was our favorite. Berkley's 100% FC, is every bit as good as those coming out of Kureha Chemical in Japan(Sugoi, Sunline, Torray & Seagaur to name a few), yet at a far better price point. It is also a line that is readily available in just about every bass tackle shop we visit accros this country. Unlike it's older brothers Vanish & Transition, this is a far superior FC, it's really evident when ya take it right out of the box. Something else I've noticed the past 3 years, when looking at the stats and comments and such from the Elite Tour Pros, 7 out of every 10 of those guys, use Berkley 100% Fc line. That's an eye opener fer me. My personal experieince with this line has been exceptional and I have more reels right now, spooled with Trilene 100% FC than I do Sugoi.
I carry extra spools in my boat when guiding, it is the FC line I recommend to all of my clients. Yes, I put in my two cents fer Sugoi, but two days before their guide trip and a client asks for a FC to pick up, it's Berkeley 100%. I git asked about other brands, I just tell em, yer gonna buy what ya want, you asked my opinion, it's the BT 100% you should get.
The poll really suprises me in the popularity of P-Line. I don't know what it is guys seen in that line. It compares purty poorly in comparison tests. Just look at Tackle Tour's two FC articles. I've seen at various shows over the years that it fails comparatively with the breaking and strength tests on machines. But more importantly to me, I have seen it fail in my boat with clients, and is the one FC line I replace most often when on the water with anglers. I know a LOT of guys, are using lighter tests of P-Line on spinning reels, and maybe their product is better suited for that type of fishing. The heavier FC P-line tests, don't fair well from what I have experienced.
I'm purty stead fast in my ways, especially when jig fishing. So, when I'm out there teaching guys to fish a jig on this River, I have one rule, you show up to fish with me, I'll supply the baits. BUT, if you show up with braid, P-line FC or Vanish FC, you git one jig, that's it! Better bring yer own if yer set on using those three lines to jig fish here on the River. Those three lines, git torn up on the rocks here, and break more often than any other line I've seen used by anglers.
And that's where I think Berkley & Stren's new 100% FC lines, shine accross all line tests. From light to heavy duty, it's an outstanding fluorocarbon line.

Toray Super Hard for jigs and texas rigs on the bottom. Sunline FC Sniper for spinning reel. Trilene 100% for certain reaction baits.

I'm with Scotth, Yozuri all the way. Strong, and resistant, and holds knots. I use a lot if it for leader on braid........works great
