Re: Towing?
I have towed in a few boats and I have noticed that the passenger side rear cleat is the best place to attach the rope. It keeps the other boat from being directly behind you (and hitting your engine) when you come up to the dock. It also allows you to SLOWLY slingshot them in front of you when you get next to the dock and kick your boat into reverse. Hope this helps!!

You might also try tying to the eye on the transom where you attach the trailer strap. It's a very strong point and eliminates the risk of pulling a cleat out if the water is choppy at all or if you have to tow the boat for a long distance.
