Re: Tony flew in to San Diego to attend the event
It was pretty awesome. I was blessed to win an Icast unit valued at $430 before tax (anyone want to make a decent offer) in a drawing on day one. Fished the night tourney of theirs, my first 'major'- and it was for the best 3 fish. My partner was a beginner so I basically fished solo- he dragged a worm behind the boat to save energy. My only two weighed in at 4.33 but 8 something won and a 7 something total took second (Rich 'Bama' Welch and his young partner- on crankbaits, which I did not try).
John from Anglers Arsenal ran it and said if had I caught one more bass I may have gotten in the money- that would have been way too cool. 25 boats with some not weighing anything or also only getting two. Overcast conditions so I did not get to fish it the way I would have liked, but still had a blast. Mine fell to the Ika fished from shore but not hit until about 6' depth. Heard that was not usually the case, that they hold tight.
Day two went back to pick up my drawing winnings, that Icast unit, and then won a Piranha 1 fishfinder donated from Ai, the owner there at Aim, Thank U Lord (and Ai). Lots of vendors and lots of prizes.
Dean Rojos had his new frog out and was there giving tips/lectures. His frog is really a winner. Welded eye, sharper stock hooks, weight that won't come off, rubber legs that can't be pulled out, lower sitting in the water design, etc.. Got me a Barinisky (sp) frog too. Man those have a killer action- can't wait to fish Hodges this Wed with it, got quite a few on the frog there last Wed, best going over 4.
Missed seeing John B. but heard he was goofing off fishing way up north or something.
Blessings,
MS

Re: Tony flew in to San Diego to attend the event
The event went real well and it was a pleasure to meet and talk with guys like Ron Shuffield, Mike Gardner and Dean Rojas. They sold a ton of tackle and a few boats so from the dealers perspective I'm sure it was a also a great success. I really enjoyed talking with Mark Kile again and meeting the new Skeeter rep Don Iglinski. Shaun Compton was there in the big Skeeter truck so the kids in all of us got to have some fun with the video games also.
It was also great fun to renew friendships with a great many people like John from Anglers and KK Chan from River2Sea as well as meet some new faces.
Best part for me was I got to put in my order for the hit of the show and that's the Skeeter i-Class boat. What a beauty indeed. It's one big bad boat to be sure.
Only bad part was that the Chargers didn't take care of business with the Eagles but such is life in the NFL.

Re: Tony flew in to San Diego to attend the event
My original post I mistakingly called it an Icast unit, but it's called Cast (their logo has a guy casting in front of the name, his arm looked like an "I"). Most of you have probably seen it, but for those that have not, it's a cool wireless lanyard. Instead of having to hook up a lanyard to your kill switch you just put this keyless button in your pocket, and to your partner, they give you two buttons. If you or your partner go over, the button gets wet and instantly cuts off the motor and sets off an alarm. You dry it off and re-set it to get going again.
Everytime you move or stop you don't have to keep hooking up and un-hooking the lanyard. For tournaments, that amounts to a lot of extra casts in a day, maybe making the difference in between getting a check or not, or even winning. Many of the guys are starting to use them, and if you win a tourney with one on your boat they have a system where they give you an additional thousand bucks or so as a bonus for most big tourneys!!!

Here is a link to their site: http://www.wirelesslanyard.com/store/in ... egory_ID=1
I see they are $469 plus tax, a $506 value. I'm wanting the first $400 for it. Anyone interested?

Re: Hey Otay Michael.........
Mike, actually, I had sent you a private message (pm) that morning right after your first post asking you to call me. But that's ok, Jerry is a good guy and he falls out of his boat a lot so me needs the kill switch more then me.

Just to make Tony drool a little bit...
These were from this morning... we have three of these beauties right now. For those of you that were at the Jamboree, the two on display there are still available. And then the one that Galaxie Marine borrowed for their event is back in our showroom.

Re: Hey Otay Michael.........
Sorry John, I did not know about the PM feature on this site. On sdFish boards a pop-up message lets you know you have mail- I would have thought that was how it worked on this one too, but see it's different. Sorry again for the screw-up on my part.
