Rod for swim jigs and vibrating jigs

Post by Micropterus salmoides »

Would the Steez Compile-X 7'1" or BCR854 make a good swim jig/vibrating jig rod? Which between the two? I would use my 734C, but I have copolymer line on it for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. I have fluorocarbon on my Compile-X and BCR854 which I prefer for swim jigs/vibrating jigs.

I use the BCR855 for the same applications. It is a heavier rod but it has great action. If you use the right jig (Pepper Jigs are my Choice) you can flip em pitch em and shake the heck out of em all with just one jig. The 855 has never let me down.

I should clarify that I will be working the swim jig and vibrating jig as a reaction bait, retrieving it just above grass.
