I have been using the Surgeons with pretty good luck until I started doing some testing with it....
So I decided to try the uni to uni.........I am using light 10 to 20 braid with 6lb fluoro.....
When I am tying the knot it is breaking as I tighten the 2 knots together at the Fluuro part of the knot....I am wetting the knot and everything....
With the lighter lines it is tuff to see the wraps........
ANy suggestions?????
Thanks
John
Uni to Uni Braid to Fluoro Help
Re: Uni to Uni Braid to Fluoro Help
What I do with 8-10 fireline Crystal is with it make only about three to four wraps on the uni. But on the flouro leader I make around 5=6 wraps, wet both knots and between and slide them closed slowly, then pull tight when they meet. Cut the tag ends. So far I have had good results with this, line holds well and does nto break. Bill K

The nail knot works great for this application, see Cabela's "Tie Fast" tool item # 2UG-319389.

Do you have a problem with the knot as you reel it in..as far as it hitting the guides....MikeD wrote:tony pena knot
Also how does the knot tool work?
Thanks
Try the J Knot
This knot holds braid to fluoro or mono tight and slips easily through the guides. No tool needed and easy once you learn how to tie it.

it hits the guide but it is a very thin clinch knot so there is no issue with stress on the eyelets of the guides. also known as the roddy hayes knot
doesn't take a knot tool to tie it
I put an extra half hitch on the mono/flouro, works for me
