First and foremost, I’d like to thank all of those who’ve helped out over the past four years with our schools fishing club. Without the support of all of you, our club would have not existed as long as it has. I’m sure you’re all aware of the current state of our local school districts. All of us teachers were told last month that none of our current teaching assignments were guaranteed. Basically, we’re not going to be told what school we’ll be assigned to until some time in July. Fortunately for me my job is safe but my wife wasn’t so lucky. As a high school counselor she was told that her contract would not be renewed and her position would not be filled. Coincidentally, I’ve decided that the best thing for me to do was to take a year off from running the fishing club as well as all my other unpaid extra duties until I know at least where I’ll be teaching next year. In the event that I’m transferred I’ll be donating all of our clubs fishing equipment to our local teen fishing clubs.
