Berkley tourney question

Post by Charles »

I have asked the people in charge but have yet to get a response. Maybe someone on the forum knows the answer.

Can I launch somewhere other than Russo's for the Berkley Big Bass tourney and go have my livewells checked prior to fishing or is it mandatory to launch at Russo's?

Thanks

Hey Charles,

I thought I read somewhere that you could launch anywhere but you had to check in at Russo's before fishing. Shoot opsveh1 a PM, I'm guessing he can give you the answer.

p.s. I have to ask, is the back of your boat open? I'm looking for a ride for both days.

YES....

You can launch from ANYWHERE you want to. However, EVERYONE must register and have their livewells checked at RUSSO's marina.

Hope that answered your question. If not, please call the Angler's Press offices - ANYTIME.

They did not require that last year.

No it is not required to remove all of the tackle from your boat. We will however polygraph the Grand Prize winner.

You can do that for ANY tournament, not just the Big Bass Challenge.

There are a lot of guys that launch at B&W, right down the road at the Sugar Barge and other local launch ramps and boat over to Russo's and get their live wells checked and register in for a tournament. If you do so make sure you have your runnings lights on, preferably some GPS to help navigate but not to be solely depended on, and always proceed at safe speeds.

Thanks Tony,

Yes, we will have Berkley staff at the docks to check livewells from the anglers that come in from other launch ramps.

Don't forget...EVERY participant will also receive a free gift bag of great Berkley product that you can use in the event. And last year, Pete Moore used the Hollow Belly swimbait he received in his gift bag, to win the whole thing on the last cast of the event!

See you there!

Where can we find the results for this tourney? Do they have an hourly updated results page?

So I'm to understand that its entirely up to the individual to use Berkley Baits only? I know we will. But will every one else? Now the challenge is on!!!! Tom

Gumpa,

I understand your fear.

My partner and I will be there and my boat will be empty except for Berkley baits.

There's always ways to cheat, but I'm going out there to enjoy a different kind of format, and of course hopefully win some money.

My concern is actually safety with the weigh-ins as often as they are. People will be running in and out at 70 MPH.

Be safe out there everyone and slow down at the blind turns.

Thanks,
Rene
