As long as the wind stays down you should be able to fish just about anywhere a big boat would especially if you stayed around marinas and withing 5mph zones. If you want to try the Delta, the sloughs on 8 Mile Rd would be an option namely Bishop Cut/Disappointment around Paradise Pt. Marina and Honker Cut/Disappointment around King Island Marina. I would still try to avoid weekends if possible. For lakes, you have a ton of options provided again you avoid the weather and crowds and stay around the ramp or marina. Pardee may be a good option because it's fishing only. Amador is small but expensive. Regarding your post about Oroville there is plenty of water next to the spillway ramp that you could fish safely but again, watch the wind and other boaters. I'm sure you will get alot of other suggestions on this board and you will have plenty of water to choose from. Good Luck.

In Folsom, go to Rattlesnake bar and fish the north fork, specially past the 5 mph zone.
Camp far west might be a good choice.
as for the delta, i'll second paradise cove. may be Georgiana slough.
Amador is a sure bet due to NO SKIERS.
There is also a little pond with lots of bass in the 1.5 range in Cameron Park, off cambridge road next to the airport.
Good luck!

Go put that thing in discovery bay. Bring senkos.
Lake thorton on 80 just past auburn in meadow vista. Bring senkos.
Lake Clemintine over the forest hill bridge. Bring senkos, and a hula grub. (small mouth)
Lake natomas launch at willow creek. (small mouth)
Look at a google satalite of Folsom. Pick one.

Try Mather lake on the old air force base. It used to be excellent fishing but I havent been there in years. Lots of grass beds to fish and easy to launch your small boat.

"MATHER LAKE" Is there a boat launch, or a place to drive up to the lake shore to put my small boat in? If not, ow far is the walk from the parking lot?

There is a few spots in the Sac area that are about an hour away and area great for small boats. Collins lake in the Browns Valley area, Lake Englebright in the Penn Valley area are the two I would hit. Lots of fish and easy acces from the ramp for instant fishing!!
