WEBSITE CALLING RANGER BOATS/GENMAR/EXECS CROOKS?????

Post by Barry Stanley »

I have been looking to by a new/used Z520 for the past 6 months. Not sure why I haven't done it yet because there are plenty to be had.
Anyway, I was on some website(BBC)??? I think and was directed to a website called www.ripoffreport.com I got to reading about all these unhappy owners of Ranger boats. They were stating that they had been lied to and all sorts of statements about the company using fraudulent selling tactics. I don't have a dog in this fiasco but it was news to me about all the alleged complaints. Anyone out there heard about these allegations & is there any truth to them.
Not wanting to harm anyone or company but thought it was worth inquiring about.

I'm on my 3rd Ranger and I can't complain. They are great boats. I'd be very skeptical on whatever you see on that site. Some people just have an axe to grind no matter what.

I would not put it pass anyone selling other type of boat would set up a web site to talk about their opponent.

I think a lot of that kind of stuff has to do with the dealership.
I bought both my boats from Anglers, including my current Ranger TR 177, and have had zero problems.
Rick stands behind what he sells.
Look at what he's posted here about the Genmar bankruptcy.
He is, first and foremost, a businessman. He knows repeat customers and referrals are his bread and butter, and takes care of us.

I hope they do get a call from the legal department. I don't even see how that is possible. Wouldn't they send the boat back and make the guy sign a release of liability. You can't just take someone boat and say tough luck. This sounds like BS to me

I doubt that is legit. If that was true, people would be dead for sure.

Also Wood Manufacturing Company, Inc. is included in the filing.

Not saying they can, or that any of this is legit. But the rules for coporate backruptcy are very different from individuals. We had a customer pay us 75 days prior to them filing, a very sizable sum, the money was already 120 days late. Guess what, we had to pay all of that money to the court trustee, who them handed it out to secured creditors. The original invoice was a full six months prior to their filing, we were paid late and yet still had to return the money and ended up with nada. Anything is possible.

Boy the sad part may be the other's wont be far behind. It's pretty sad out there right now.

Look at the classified section here. I dont think all the stuff is up for sale becouse they dont want it.

What I mean is if these situation's are true Genmar(Ranger) does have the obligation to warrent a product that is under warrenty.

I think these stories may be a little suspect myself.

Actually they don't have to warranty anything. That is why the taxpayers are backing up the warranties on Chrysler and GM. They don't have to do squat. They should do the warranty work as first priority if they would like to continue selling boats after bankruptcy. That is the first thing I would do.

You know a person with an education looking for information on a specific product that they own or is inquiring about an upcoming purchase usually goes straight to the source. The source being the people who are actually in the industry and are tied in to the daily regimens of the company stated. Instead here we have a prime example of how negativity and the complete lack of common sense spreads falsehoods across the industry.

If you are truly looking for information about your Ranger Purchase or if you have a question about your warranty please contact your local Ranger Dealer or contact myself at the number below.

MY .02

First of all I own a basscat and love it, with that being said when you are an industry leader you are the TARGET for much public criticism and hated upon by people for whatever reason. The type of forum that the link points to is a Passive aggressive pussification of america forum. If there was that many warranty claim issues with ranger we would see Lawsuites against the dealers, Ranger and anyone else. The fact of the matter is ask any of the local guys if they are having issues with Ranger or its service?

I also agree that the dealer makes the difference, a great dealer will be an advocate for you with the manufacture. Going to a great dealer like Capital City or Anglers Marine is a way to make sure you have a standup dealer on your side.

As public enemy said DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!

Those articles seem pretty hard to believe. There is an easy fix though, go to Angler's and you won't have that problem.

I call BS.

Look at all the Ranger Boats we have on the west coast, if there was any kind of major problem with Ranger we would have heard about it on this site.

It sounds like buyers remorse to me!
