Try a Powell flipin rod. My buddy used one to go striper fishing with me one day and landed a 72" sturgeon on it without a sweat. I think it is $169.99
Ohh son!! That's a 4, 5 ,7 8, 12 punder son!!

i use a lamiglas 767 "swimbait special" it handles the punker very well and it has a soft tip. i hooked my first punchin fish today and the tip wasn't all that stiff for the application. i use it to throw my 4-6" paddle tail swimbaits too. i also use a dobyns 795 for my punkers and swimbaits. good luck!

i like to use a 5'6" medium light bps tourney special rod it is so beastly. ot can cast 5 ounce baits with ease. this rod is sooo sensitive that it is stiff because of its sensitivity. HAR! HAR! HAR!

Okuma has a 7'11" Telescoping Heavy action swimbait rod that retails for $109. I have two, the actions are great (not screwed up by the fact that it is telescoping). It's a great all around swimbait rod and you could certainly punch with it if you wanted.

I have the Powell 7'11" MH. I have used it for 6" wood Punkers, 6" Huddlestons, Mission fish, and smaller wake baits or Triple trouts. Never punched with it but I think it would work. The handle is a little long for working a walking type bait but it can be done. I think it would even substitute in a pinch for a frog rog up on the mats.
