It changes every year. It just keeps getting better and better!
Believe me when I say it's like Christmas in July for these kids!

Obviously sponsor contributions make a huge impact on what can be given away. Let's hope for the best for this year!

Typically, the top 5 and big fish have gotten a Shimano rod & reel Combo. The top 12 kids will get a placement plaque, Big Fish also get's special plaque and every other teen receives a commemorative plaque as well for participating..

We always have special prizes that are donated by various sponsors, that sometimes we really don't know about until when pros check in and drop stuff off from their sponsors. Other times we've had Black Dog Baits, Dobyns Rods, Lamiglass, Ultimate Bass Radio, Yamamoto, Snag Proof, and various other companies provide special prizes that we give away to teens for Big Fish or other random awards for beating a certain pro staffer. We've also had Ranger boats one year donate us a very cool Puter Truck & boat model statue for the winner. Last year's winner received a Kick boat donated by the Bass-N-Tubes.

The entire event is based on donations provided by our various sponsors who choose to particpate with us. We have our regulars, and then new ones popping up all the time. Even the help is all volunteered, including the our boater Pros who simpley are donating their time and efforts for this event. The teens entry of $30, barely covers the insurance, launching and BBQ.

We've never really gone way overboard with big prizes, we've tried to keep it tame and focused on getting the teens exposed and interested in bass fishing. With this being a tough econimic year for many, we've not pushed our sponsors a whole bunch to date and probably won't. It is what it is, and we're always gracious to get what we receive from those believing in our cause with these teens.

Ok Cooch ya got me!

Big fish for the teen will win a Lamiglas 766 Certified Pro Flipping Stick about a $230 rod and the big fish on the pro side will win a Sospenders Automatic Life Jacket about a $200 jacket.

These will come from Ultimate Bass Radio, Lamiglas and the Wear It California Campaign and Boating and Waterways.

Glad to be able to help with this awesome event. It gets better and better each year so if you are on the fence sign up and see some smiles.

Awesome KB.

Shimano has again donated 8 rods, and 4 reels, along with other goodies for the raffle. Cooch will determine how it breaks out. That's why he gets the big bucks.

ReelEx is donating a Curado E7 to the lucky Pro who has his/her boat number pulled prior to the awards ceremony, so let's get this boater field filled!

Dan

p.s. Maybe we could hear from the winning teen on a future program KB? Just a thought? See ya there!
