Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
What are the main differences and the pros and cons? There is quite a price discrepancy between the two for obvious material differences, but which one catches more and bigger fish. I think I prefer the 6 inch model.
Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
Both are great baits and both catch fish equally depending on the situation. But a 6" Injected with rattles and and 8" Wood Punker without. One of, if not, the greatest topwater walking baits of all time.

The Best and Most Beautiful Art n Pure Fish Punking Bait EVER Created
The Injects have metal balls that weigh and rattle the bait.
The wood does not.
They are Diffrent, like a 68 camaro is to a 70 1/2 camero,
yet are both still Camero's.
buy 1( or some) of each.....go try 1 of each...you can't have just one....
I know I can't.......

Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
Fairly new to the punker chucking but I have been throwing the wood with limited success . I got to thinking last week and noticed the water clarity has changed dramaticaly to a stained green alge bloom. I cut off the wood punker and tied on the injected with the rattles and like clockwork got bit . Nice 6lb.14oz largie.
I think it depends on what the conditions are , or just luck of the draw . Who knows.

Injected are built like crap. If I would have been in the store when I bought it and saw it in person I would have passed. Stay with the solid one.
Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
I disagree biteme.....My wood punkers end up being big striper toys while my plastic ones hold up to the abuse the biggin's lay down on it.

Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
So what is the first runs of the injects were a little rough? The fish sure dont mind. My first fish on an inject punker was a 7 1/2 back in March. She didnt mind!
Wood punkers have a wider walk. But the plastic punker is a very strong bait!
Stay tuned........

Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
Im sure they hold up better. Being a guy that has bought lots of custom punkers I just thought the plastic ones would look a bit better. I guess I just came to expect that from black dog.JustinD wrote:I disagree biteme.....My wood punkers end up being big striper toys while my plastic ones hold up to the abuse the biggin's lay down on it.

Now that is customer service at its BEST!! It's nice to know sometimes, as it should always be, that you get what you pay for. I don't have any injected Punkers as of yet, but hearing he made improvements....well, ordering one today!!

Like always, class act! This is why I was shocked about the bait. Ive owned 8 of the solid punkers. Ive been a big fan, nothing but the best paint jobs and the bait speaks for it self.lunker punker wrote:biteme,

The injection punker not only has rattles, but the proportions are a little different. The following photo is a six inch wood punker jr. on top and the injection version below:

As well, the injection version is easier to walk IMO.
Of course, don't overlook the soon to be released 4" Bill Cracker either:

WOW! Sounds like it doesn't really matter which one I get, I should be very happy. I am a sucker for rattles though so I may start with the injected. Thanks everyone.

I have more

I like both and I think both have a purpose the plastic is great for dirty water conditions it puts off more rukus but then again the wood has the stealth factor in clear water you can work this bait with such subtily(sp) in gen clear water and not spook the fish
heck buy one of each and you'll see what I mean

Biteme,
I definitely disagree with you about the injected punkers. go look at my video on their website and see the Peacock Bass i caught on one of the first plastic Punkers to hit the stores. That thing took a real beatin' and its still going strong today catching bass and stripers in the Delta for me.
I have plenty of both and use both, but i dont see any problems with quality of the plastic punker.

You can get the injection without rattles too i think.
Re: Injected Lunker Punker vs. Regular Lunker Punker
What is there to disagree about? I never said they dont work. What Im saying is I got the bait and it wasnt put together very well. Just didnt look like a black dog bait. Its just a cosmetic thing and I know some of you just dont care about that stuf. I can tell you one of the reason why Ive bought some many punkers is because of the standard that was set by them.kopper_bass wrote:Biteme,
