Ramp Courtesy
So what do you guys think of the latest GM commercial showing the boater backing down the ramp blocking a lane, and THEN starting to get their gear out of the truck?

Re: Ramp Courtesy
Most places I posted this that was about the response. The point though is GM is reinforcing bad behavior as normal. Advertising has an affect atleast indirectly on what people think and do, or they wouldn't spend money to advertise.

Having been in the business for about a hundred years, I can tell you the people who were involved in this spot were probably all in their twenties, wouldn't know one end of a fishing rod from the other, have never towed a boat in their life, and were MUCH more concerned the truck look "Beautiful and Outdoorsy"...that all said I see more of this kind of ramp behavior than not except on tournament days when the bass guys get it done properly (for the most part, not always)

Just a typical GM driver.
Just kidding.
I did see it and thought, "What an "
Then I realized it was just an ad and makebelieve.

Last night I fished for a few hours and upon returning to the launch ramp I watched as a boat launched, tied up to the dock, then proceeded to unload several coolers and other bags from the launch vehicle down the dock and onto the boat. All this took 3 guys about 10-15 minutes. And the whole time the boat was taking up space on the dock and the launch vehicle was taking up the ramp with an empty trailer in the water. Unreal.........
Ohh I do not recall if the launch vehicle was a GM

I watched a carls JR commercial with a hot girl in a bikini and she was eating the terryaki 6 dollar burger and I have been eating them to lose weight and it is not working...... I guess you can not believe everything you see on tv.,........

Re: Ramp Courtesy
The best on I ever saw was a few years back at the 5th street ramp in LP. Four guys were getting their sailboat ready to go. They had the whole ramp tied up preping the boat. Some people said something to them but it went right over their heads. Finally they had the sail up and started backing down the ramp with nobody in the boat. Just as it got into enough water to float, a gust of wind came up and off she went into the lake heading for Redbud. As I left I didn't see anybody hurring up to help them. What's the old saying, what goes around comes around.

most advertizing agency dont know anything about the product they are making a commerical about. they try to make it catchy and appealing to the eye and for a cheap as possible. that commerical is a perfect example. most of us know that you prep the boat before coming down the ramp, but look at all the idiots who do it at the ramp. why dont you send a response to gm and see what they have to say maybe they are unaware of the proper why the do it.
