Lowrance sonar/Minnkota built in transducer

Post by Randy Walker »

Has anybody had a problem with there Lowrance sonar/Minnkota built in transducer not providing the depth...just keeps flashing 0ft, sometimes will flash another number...but is not locking in. All other data comes up on the screen as normal. I have checked cables and connections, and they are good. Is this a sign that my universal sonar/transducer may be going out?

Thanks much...

i would take your trolling motor to hook line and sinker and have them look at it

I've had that happen due to interference between the bow and console finder. I do have interference when I hit the TM button. I was told that the built in models are prone to these problems due to how close the TM wires are to the transducer cable

I thought that the built in Transducer would be the best solution to get rid of the cables, but I found the same problems with the depth readings. I purchased an external transducer now and have that set up to work instead. I couldn't find any real answers to fix the problem. It is pretty common and is just the flaw of the system for some reason.

I guess I got lucky because I started with the external but switched to the internal after breaking two and I honestly can't say that I can tell a difference.
