Why so many used Shimano baitcasters for sale?

Post by jazzwannabe »

Anyone else notice this on the WB classifieds? I know Shimano doesn't make junk. Is it simply because there are so many Shimano reels out there?

No, it is mostly because the sellers are replacing the ones they are selling with the newest models of the same reels..

And the ABU Revo's line of reels. 8)

I do have 4 of the new Currado's -- and they are really great in a 200 series spool for certain applications !

But I would much prefer personally to spend the $20 more in getting a Revo STX - if I could do again for two of the new Currado's. The one I dislike the most is the E5 reel......... I will never again buy a 5:1 reel.

Start throwing cranks with that 5 to 1 Dan. You will be looking for more. I forces you to slow down and you WILL get more bites.

I put that reel on DeltaJacks new Flippin' Stick and Injected Punker that he won at the Pro-Teen raffle this last Sunday !!

It still has #17 100% Trilene on it .... I prolly should of dropped down to #10 test for what I bought it for at the ABA CL TOC last year.

Jack handled the whole package really good today -- and I gona put him on different water tommorow morning as well to try for him ~ for him to break it in right this time. :D

I'd say theres a lot of them out there[ because they're good] and money is tight for some people right now. So may be selling a few off to help to bills

Hey Dan, I was told by Alan at Fisherman's warehouse when I bought my E5 that you can have the gearing changed pretty easily if I didn't like it. But, I like mine as it's on my crank bait set-up...

These darn kids have too much good stuff

Punker for the 5 to 1, maybe not. Topwater needs the high ratio. Think running bank with a speedtrap or Deep Little N crank. That 5 to 1 will get the crank down to make contact just fast enough. Actually when I'm crankin' I have a hard time getting bit with the faster ratio reels.

5:1 for reaction baits. Everything else gets a 7:1. Death winch from above.
