Boat Taxes
i was wondering in calif. do you get charged on just cost of boat or boat , motor and trailer. i am talking about the property - luxury tax thanks for any imput

I dont know what it is but I do know mine went from $170 last year to $128 this year for some reason. Didnt expect that!

In Monterey county you have to pay a personal property tax.
1% of assed value plus some special city taxes. I am sure that
it will probably get some more "special taxes" added in next year.

its a percentage of what the boat is valued at by the questionaire they send you each year. mine goes down every year for depreciation on the boat. Scott

I just got mine in the mail yesterday, I am in Alameda County / Castro Valley. The tax rate here is 1.1342% for boats / luxury, or whatever the F#$%%#$ they call it. 
Go sell crazy somewhere else we are all stocked up here.
