Born in 49 so I' am old enough to have walked in the picket lines at U.C Berkley in the 60's

Grew my hair down too my a** for the sheer spite of those who hated the sight of it

Enlisted in the Navy but didn't serve due to a car accident and turned into a 4-F overnight.

Raised two fine sons and marred to the same woman for 35 yrs.

Did my thing with Sex, Drug's and Rock and Roll cause i was 19 and lived in Berkley at the time. Payed my due's big time back to society as a result !

Seen more than my share of what Irresponsible Drinking and Drug use dose to Man, Women and Child.

Now I am a old fart who has turned into a Republican who can see what the New and Improved version of me at 19 can do to a society of Man, Women and Child who has a attention span with an collective memory that is equal to a Mosquito !

When Mayor Galvin Newsom is Governor and the Delta Has a Canal build around it because most don't vote or give a good crap, will it be to late ?

But we will still be talking about and debating a name of a frog ! So some can have their 15 min of fame !

Seems Too Me That We Have Forgot What Is Worth While As A Whole, Cause we are just too dam busy with are own selfish needs to bother.

I know that I am guilty of this to a large degree myself and don't blame any one or thing on it besides me !

I personally am not offended by what some one lables a bait or for that matter what they want to call each other, I am not all that hung up on names or labels. I have been called every name in the book cause I asked a woman of color to slow down on my street, or the time i asked a clipped haired mean face woman to move up in place at a gas station so we could both use the pumps. Made me sad to realize that we don't really give a hoot bought one another cept in our own self interest.

I don't care what anybody does in the privacy of their own homes or just out of the public eye as long as they aren't hurting others. By publicly endorsing an acceptance of things that should be kept private they contribute to the slippery slope of depravity that this world is on and that does hurt others.

Says who? Maybe in your perception but for many people drugs (even illegal ones) have contibuted to positive life changes and normalization.
I know all about Mr. Hearst......Studied his life at A Cal Poly class and was at one time forestry major before switching to city planning and GPS/Technical Geopgraphy/Cartography. So I'm no dumb-*** as suggested by numerous individuals who would even have trouble understanding some of the concepts I worked on developing. Oh by the way i was at one time JPL specialist. Its just a frog. Who cares what the color names are. Is it gonna make me a dope head? No. Andre's baits never made get a real stinky pinky or a dirty sanchez. I bought them to catch fish. This country allows people to have edgy flair whether we agree with it or not. Its very simple. If it offends you dont buy it or read the color names. Nobody forces you to read it. Last word that needs to be said. Most of us agree.

Same with the Crack. Tacky. I have never seen the bait but my impression was that it had a crackle finish. If it is to emulate a drug I hope that LC drops it because of low sales.

It enables, validates the expressions and burns it that much deeper into their routine lives.

Hope they are proud of themselves. Like the kids don't have enough of a mine field to navigate in life as it is.

I really dont see why us discussing the names is a big deal. Im just shocked at how many guys are cool wit it,lol. When I started this thread its wasnt to rake Ish or SP over the coals, I was just trying to understand why a well know well to do Company would go this route.
I can see a lot of you smoke and thats cool too. Please just dont do it when you doing 70mph in a Bass Boat. What you do in your own home is you business and your right.
I see a lot of comparing this to other things in fishing, Alcohol, other baits ect. But none of those things are Illegal. For NOW Pot is and I think thats why I have a problem with it.
I also think if it was a no name brand it would be different for a lot of you.
Theres a lot of other important things going on in the World and with our Waterways and I realize that. But we have to try and keep a standard in life, it has to start somewhere. Pushing baits with Drug names just doesnt seem right to ME regardless if its in good fun or not. Thats my .02 on this subject!

Drugs are bad, mâ€™kay? And so are stereotypes. I think a major issue that seems to be missed (or avoided) is that there are several stereotypes at work here. One stereotype associates African Americans and drug use. Unfortunately, Mr. Monroe is reinforcing that stereotype by promoting a product with his name on it using those color names. Whether or not he uses drugs in his personal life is irrelevant.

It's not just Black stereotypes, but Whites also. An all white color called Da Man? What does that say about my White friend - he's the man trying to keep me down? And what about my Black friend - he must be a drug user? It certainly doesn't do anything to help with racial tension through stereotypes.

I find it sad that Mr. Monroe has gone down this path instead of using his abilities to promote a healthy lifestyle through fishing.

This is why drug testing is ridiculous. Beer/whiskey/etc is legal and should have no bearing on your job. If you came in drunk then that's a whole other issue. The workplace should be determining your status as an employee by the quality of the work you do, not what they randomly find in your piss a month down the road. If they worked on this principle your little scenario wouldn't even be a possibility.

On the same vein, if a freakin plastic frog named something causes someone to have a different outlook or a lifestyle change, then that person needs help beyond anything we're talking here.

Got two friends that are both in public service.

One a fireman.twenty five yrs service.never tested for anything, just retired.

Other. 20 plus in public works....never tested for anything.....
