guide question
guide question
The gromet/inlet (or whatever you call it) part of the guide on my rod is missing. I'm afraid of it eventually wearing down my line. Is there any way to replace this piece?
Re: guide question
call your local tackle store and see if they do repairs. Is it the top one? If so you can buy replacements and fix it yourself.basswipe wrote:The gromet/inlet (or whatever you call it) part of the guide on my rod is missing. I'm afraid of it eventually wearing down my line. Re: guide question
You shouldnt fish with the inside of the guide missing. Just take it in a get it replaced. If you are in So Cal. take it to Last Chance Bait and Tackle and they will remove that guide and replace it while you wait for 15-20 bucks total.
If you are fishing with it like that you are going to coil and/or fray your line and probably lose a fish because of it.

Re: guide question
I wouldnt advise fishing with the guide in this condition it will damage your line and you will lose fish. Take it into a shop that does rod repairs they will have to replace the entire guide, not just the ceramic. 10-20 bucks and your back into business.
