SHASTA LAKE WEST COAST BASS PRO/AM

Post by rdearmond »

Has anyone commited on fishing the tournament or heard how many pros and aaa have allready entered? The last few WCB had around 25 or 30 boats. It sounds like fun, I just hope alot of guys enter the thing so WCB keeps coming back.

Don't know how many boats yet, but the bite should pick up. Pre fished last week lots of 1.75 lbrs. Lake is droping about a foot a day. Hope to see a lot of guys there. Larry V, has listened to the fisherman, and done what they asked, but then they screwed him over on the next tourney by failing to support him, so it's anybodys guess as to what the numbers are going to be. My limited sources say he has a pretty good schedule to announce at this tourney regarding next year. Should be fun.

My friend and I are ready! Except we haven't been on Shasta for a while... but who cares!!! Shasta is one of the funnest place to fish anywhere... The bite is really good according to some of the locals, and everyone will have a lot of fun!

I'm interested in fishing a tournament as a non-boater, is this a single event or is somethin where I should start at the begining of a season?

I see on the website the membership fee, and minum insurance fee and the tournament fee's.

also do they draw or do you need to find your own partner?

I have signed up as an AM. Larry puts on a good show. Come on out! And don't forget, they're televised! Good exposure if you have sponsors. Anyone need a pre fish partner? Or a sign up partner if you want to guarantee your entry.

Larry's got all his permits for the 2010 season so everything should be a go for WCB. Here's the link the their website for info on the upcoming tournament:

I havn't fished WCB for years but when they were around the north state I fished most of them, and as I recall they were high-tech run very well. We need to support this group as well as FLW, Won Bas, AB all of them, if we can; so they keep coming back.

I fished them all in 95,96.97, &98. Larry put on quite a show, especially the Classic. West Coast Bass paid for the motel with the wife all week and a sponsor paid for the dinners each night. I finally retired so I will be there in Shsta.

You couldn't pick a better tournament to fish. Larry is truly a "stand-up" guy who listens to his anglers. A great place to start tournament bass fishing.
