I am hoping to head out Sunday night for my first night time Striper fishing. I am planning on launching out of Russo's and fishing within Frank's. Is their any tips as far as what baits I should use, areas to fish, etc. Thanks, I am pretty pumped to see new posts under the Striper section daily.
If I call in sick, I am probably on the Delta.

I recommend having 3 different lures.

1. Topwater - either a super spook or lunker punker - or in my case both!

2. 3/4oz Rattletrap - Chrome/blue and/or Red Craw

3. Paddle Tail swimbait - I prefer the FishTrap or the Robo Worm Saltwater Paddle tail. Colors - white, rainbow and clear chartruese if you can find it.

Rip baits are also good choices but I catch tons of fish on the above mentioned lures and none are terribly expensive.

Good luck....head to the north east corner of Franks and fish around the tulle islands, points and channels. Looks for the surface activity and any diving birds.

They were there all day than. I fished there from about 330 to 630. Lost count but somewhere around 40. No keepers, but fun. Wanted to leave and find some bigger ones, but just couldn't get myself to do it. Caught them on a spoon, sammy and white grub on a dart head. The money minnow was to big for them.

Any one have a open seat next Wednesday September 9th afternoon and night. Coming through town for work, but won't be able to tow the boat around due to work obligations. Would be willing to compensate for gas and a ride late afternoon to dusk.

I was out in Washington and False River this morning with my dad from first light to 11am. Largest went 20lbs on a Punker and the rest came on Spooks and Paddle tails. Took home 4 keeps between 4-6lbs. We didn't get the quantity that we got on Sat but the quality was better today.
