I have seen drop shot with a small jig and popper with a small worm from the back end. Aaron Colman had a rig to fish a swim bait behind other swim bait. I have myself tried three hooks and small worms on a drop shot. Did not catch anything but had a few laughs.

Best is to say ask the TD – good luck in your tournament

If it doesn't break a state law then do it.

There are rules written into some tournament rules that donot allow for more than two hooks per set up. Obviously this does not apply to one lure that has three hooks like a super spook or some bigger rip baits. I would consult with the tournament rules and the TD before taking a chance you may be DQed.

I would check the rules of the organization you are fishing. Tandem baits have been in use for along time.

it would always be best to ask director but I know 2 is ok in most cases, I believe 3 is illegal with dfg.

I have seen a guy throwing 2 small hudds rigged like one chaseing the other. He seemed to think it worked.

I have rigged a DS with a shacky head on the bottom, but I realized I end up not fishing either bait correctly. I just stick with one or the other now. Plus i dont want to spend all day tying multi crap.
