Best weedless prop for motorguide

Post by fishnhunt21 »

Hoping to find a prop that doesn't get tangled as much as the factory one. For whatever reason, anytime we go through weeds, they get tangled and kill the prop speed and has been an issue, especially in the wind. Thanks,

Thats why I went with a Minn Kota 80# with the weedless wedge. I never thought life could be so good, and wondered why I didnt change up sooner. On my MG the kipawa prop was about the best I found, but the weeds still took hold of it. I tried all kinds of props for it.

Thanks, I think it is a 70 lb MG and it is so irratating to have to pull up after every clump we go through. I have a 40 lb MK on my boat and I never have issues like we do on his. Just trying to get an idea of what to buy for since we will use his for tourneys.

Thanks

I had 2 MG 55's and a 82#. I always thought lifting your motor and clearing your prop was just part of the game. Plus I always had one broke down in the shop. I got that MK 80# pro and seriously it has made a huge difference.

One thing that you might try is bringing the motor up as high as you can without spashing when your in the weeds, it helps a bit.

I have a MG 109 and run an o.g. Kipawa prop on it and have never had any issues with weeds. It chops right through them and I’m fishing from a 22 ft bay boat so a regular bass boat should have the same if not better results with this set up...
