Tungsten O Rings?????

Post by jwick22 »

Does anyone know where you can get Tungsten O Rings for Senkos?

I believe a Japanese company has rubber rings filled with tungsten powder.

Thanks

Wouldn't nail weights be cheaper? otherwise, sorry never even heard of weighted O rings.

Looking for a TUNGSTEN O ring.

I want it to weight the middle of a senko and can hook my hook to it.

on truebasstv.net dave rush shows you how to weight the middle of a soft plastic bait by using a nail weight, in the episode where he is at oroville.

Like your texas rigging you measure where you want the weight to end up, then insert the weight and thread it through the center. then when using the hook you hook above the nail, so that the nail is not in the bight of the hook.

and of course you could just nail the end and head weight it like a crawdad type thing....but thats not what you asked for.

Tungsten is really awesome but very expensive, I'd save it for a jig or bullet weight.

If you use a short piece of clear drinking straw to reinforce the egg sack of the worm before you put the hook through it, you don't need O rings, and you can add a nail weight there, too.

The only ones I have seen at Lake fork Tackle is Ring Weights; made of lead. Iv'e never tried them but with the weight centered in the middle, it prob. acts like a Zappu. They look cool

wacky with a flick shake head. Or if you wanna be a true hillbilly stick it with a rusty dart head. Senkos are expensive enough without tungsten bling.

With a piece of the right sized clear drinking straw, you can get lot of fish from one senko when you wackey rig, or use a Zapu jig head.

Mark, where do you get straws big enough to fit over a 5" senko?

DL.
The straws that come with the slurpy drinks at AM/PM type stores are bigger.
There are bigger straws at the markets in the picnic supplies, too.
Remember, the straw can be a tight fit. Once you have the straw started on the thin end, pull both ends, and the senko will get skinny enough to slide the straw along it.
