sherman lake

I am thinking of venturing out to sherman lake for the first time for striper fishing this saturday. I have a 20 ft fiberglass bass boat. I have never ventured out of the safe havens of old and middle rivers and am intimidated by the San Jaquion (spelling?) river. I am going to launch out of big break.

Can someone tell me if I need to be aware of any hazards out there, and is it pretty easy to fish?

If your not familiar with Big Break, idle. Lots and lots of sunken ships/boats, wood and tons of other hazards out there
