Looks like this weekend will be busy. I plan on staying away or at least trying to stay away from this Havoc. I plan on launching out of BB should I even try to go into FRANKS? How has the striper bite been in BB & FRANKS? I usually like to fish Sherman but it hasn't produced like in the past so I have tried to stay away. I picked up a L.Punker in White and Oki, which one would you throw? Any advice?
Thanks-

Hi RiverDog13:
By no means am i an authority, neither for striper or Punkers, but being you and i are in the same boat, newbie Punker chuckers, i don't think you'll go wrong with either color. If you have 1 rod, close the eyes and pick one, as long as you're over the fish you're in great odds of getting shwacked!
I read, a few threads back, someone has been killing em on the Okie shad, personally, over a 4 day period last week, i was successful with the white bait. BUT! I do have a ghost char. shad color bait that took a beating or two as well. I choose white simply due to visibility of the bait, long casts, low light, throw in some wind waves, a clear or darker color bait is difficult to see. Not every fish will commit on there first pass on the bait, important to leave it there a few seconds before working it back.
For the fishing locations, again, going back a few threads, there was mention that the SE corner of Franks has some interest, and what the heck, might as well take a stab at the NE corner islands while you're there. For BB, gosh, could be anywhere in that mass of grass, but that opening to dutch from BB looks good to me, and remember to bring a few spoons, there are fish flowing thru Dutch as well.
Good luck, hope you whack'em good!
Ray

Thanks Ray-
I fished the north side of BB and the tulie islands all the way down to dutch the other week. Do people fish the middle? Are you talking about the grass at the south end by dutch? I'm only running a small motor 25hp so it takes me longer to travel from BB to Franks. So I'am trying to decide whether to start in BB or Franks for the early AM bite?
Thanks,
