Rod tip repair..

Post by cib11b »

Well my buddy dropped a battery on my rod tip on my crankin rod and it broke off about 2 inches. It is just a BPS crankin rod.. But I don't have much money to buy a new one. could it be repaired back to normal for cheap? I know BPS will charge about $60k to do it..

Or if anyone has a nice Powell crankin rod for sale for cheap :)

If you live close to a Fisherman's Werehouse, you can get them to replace your tip for probably less than $10.

If your near Clearlake, Pete's Rod and Reel repair can do it for about 15 dollars. He also goes over your whole rod. Great work.

Give it to John at Walton's Pond and he has someone do it for him. I think it's $12, and takes 2-3 weeks.

Take a heat gun and heat the tip guide till it will come off. If it will slide back on the existing tip use a glue gun and glue it on. If not you either need a new guide or to sand down the rod tip a little before glueing it back, easy fix.
