If you could.....Where would you??

Post by texas john »

If you could take a week off of work and fish any body of water during the fall transition, where would you go and why?

Personally, I would love to be fishing in Texas, maybe Fork, Sam Rayburn or Ray Roberts. All are capable of producing big bites and I think it would be a great time, Plus I would get to go out for a week with my brother!!!

My opinion is not well informed, as Anything east of nevada is not really known, except on bass fishing shows but:

1. Shasta
2. California Delta
3. Oroville

Thats my list, and I'm sticking too it.

1. The Delta
2.The Delta
3.The Delta
Great time of year to catch a good largemouth (and possibly
plenty of them). Great time to catch stripers. Great water and
an endless array of different area's to fish. Close and does'nt
cost too much. Just my humble opinion. surfk9

John,

Where did you live in Texas? I moved from Southlake to California 3 years ago. I have soooooo many good memories of fall fishing on Ray Roberts and Fork. A few bad memories also......transom and hull don't like all those trees.

I was from a little town just south of Ft Worth. We fished Joe Poole, Benbrook, Eagle Mountain, Lewisville and all the other lakes around there. It was nice having a target. Most people have no idea about the cover you encounter at some of those lakes. It is kind of like trying to figure out what tules to fish on the Delta. There is no shortage of places to put a bait, but not all are as productive.

And what he said too (fourth would be Clearlake). Can't wait to go back up there in two weeks, bringing my aluminum w/o motor (unless I can find one before I go).

You can keep Fork and Ray Bob. I'd much rather be on Clear Lake or the Delta. I do like Sam Rayburn though - that lake is cool.

The fishing is good at Falcon, but eventually you have to go back to the dock... Too bad that lake is surrounded by a dump in the middle of nowhere.

If I had to pick one lake in Texas, I'd go to Choke Canyon. The fishing is good and the gators are fun to watch.

From up above Woodson Bridge - on down to Colusa in the Sac River for King Salmon fishing. :D

Why? Because "We" have not been able to do it ~ No even I with the boys .... for going on three years now !!
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
