I know there are a few on here, although I am not one of them..Just sometime I wish I were..I enjoyed a whole lot of fishing in the great northwest, albeit that most of it was in Alaska..Welcome aboard..

Welcome Rob.

Actually glad to hear someone from the WA area post on the board. What's the Bass Fishing scene like in the Seattle and surrounding area? I'm planning a trip up that way and have had several job offers to relocate up that way but have no idea what the fishing scene is like aside from Salmon. Any lakes/rivers you can recommend would be appreciated.

I fish for smallies a bit on the sacramento river here in northern california, it cant be too diffrent so I can share basics that work for me down here, and I have one bit of info from my tackle shop days.

I really like to use foot ball head jigs for smallies on the sacto, mostly brown/green w/ orange patterns seem to work best. both claw or craw type plastics as well as twin tail grubs. In addition carolina and split shot rigs have worked well with straight tail and some curly tail grubs in various colors. Dropshot will always get a couple fish but Ive found if I want big ones and am willing to sacrafice bites for quality jigs and spinners are king. Green crankbaits like the radar 10 work well too.

Now word is last year on the columbia alot of money was won using reaction innovations smallie beavers with revenge foot ball heads. As far as colors go I cant remember what people would call to order from the shop I worked for (Extreme Angler when it was owned by Gary Estes) But with a little experimenting and asking around Im sure you can find success.
Hope this little tidbit of info helps ya out.

Look for posts by Marc Marcantonio. Screen name "Marc". He lives up there and likely can give you some good help. He checks in here frequently and seems to be a real nice fella. Heck, he even runs a Skeeter!

hi guys thanks for the responces

Seattle is about 2.5 hours north of me. I don't have any personal experience up that way but there are several bass lakes of interest there, one of them, lake Washington, is a large lake running right through downtown Seattle, from what I understand smallies run up to 6-7 pounds with 4's being very common. it also has largemouth, the largest i have hear is about 7 i think..
There is also lake Sammamish and lake Saywer that are smaller lakes but have similar fishing.. In short there is no shortage of good bass fishing in the Seattle area..

I live in Vancouver , I fish primarily on the Columbia river. This river has a great level of diversity. winning one day bags are usually in the 16-20 lb range but i have heard of larger. 100 fish days are not uncommon but sometimes finding long ones is a little tricky. There seem to always be some shallow fish and some deep fish.. I haven't got a fish on a smallie beaver yet but they inhale the 4.20's just fine also half oz white spinnerbaits do the trick for me.. i can catch them pretty good 90% of the time i just need to figure out the other 10%... particularly in the fall the fish just sem to dissapear..
