LAUNCH & be first to fish event at DVL December 12th

Post by Lynne »

Yes this is sooo very exciting...FIRST…..THANK YOU MEGAN MERCHANT for all of your hard work helping to get the ramp poured at Diamond Valley Lake. The Metropolitan Water District Board now know you by face and I am sure that they are very proud of your effortsand know your sincerity….We are thankful that MWD voted to fund and pour the ramp so that now we can all enjoy the world class fishery that we have here in Riverside County.

WE NEED YOU ON DECEMBER 12th...be the First to Fish (launch) DVL…….

Valley Wide Recreation in conjunction with National Bass West will be the first to launch at Diamond Valley Lake since October 13, 2008 when we were no longer able to launch.

The Metropolitan Water District is allowing Valley Wide Recreation to hold a charity tournament and a customer appreciation event on December 12, 2009 at Diamond Valley Lake.

Only those entered in the charity event will be allowed to launch that day. This event will be for both bass fishermen and trout fishermen.

The entry fees for this event will be:

Bass entry, $220 ($80 in options available)
Trout entry: $60 per adults (16 years and older)....$20 for 15 years and under (must have proof of age)

50% of the entry money will be going to Valley Wide, the rest back to you anglers.

The event fees include a barbecue for all of the anglers & plaques

Sign up at Last Chance Bait and Tackle in Hemet. We will also have sign ups at the lake the morning of the event. We will also have information at Anglers Marine’s Bass-a-Thon this weekend.

Valley-Wide Recreation has had several charity events at Diamond Valley in the past. Because of the participation from the anglers, Valley Wide Recreation has been able to give scholarships to children who want to play baseball/softball but were unable to afford it, they have given scholarships to children who wanted to learn how to swim but were unable to afford the lessons. Last charity event that they had, they took part of the money and gave a small portion of it to San Jacinto Police Activity League where they bought rods/reels for the children and took 60 kids out and taught them how to fish. All of these examples are because of you anglers participating in the events.

We are very hopeful that this event will bring Valley Wide Recreation a lot of money and that you anglers have a great time back on Diamond Valley Lake.

More details to follow

Once again thank you to MEGAN and thank you to MWD.Any questions,

Lynne Peterson

Anyone want to buy an annual pass with a couple of months left over???

Sounds like GOOD TIMES!!! Would love to come down for it, as it was my home lake, but don't think the timing works out. Too bad, but BEST OF LUCK with this event!!!

I wish I could make it. Have to run a tournament at Castaic the same day. John, you think you can arrange to have Tomboy playing on the floating dock for blastoff?

I tried.. they said you had them booked for the Castaic deal that day. They said something about dental floss and electrical tape. I just shook my head and hung up.

first?

Post by Scott E. »

I was there today and although they didn't use the NEW launch ramp, two wrapped boats were out there today (one was Ehrler, I think, National Guard Wrap Job and the other I'm not sure who it was, in a blue and red wrap job with a couple stars) for fishing and photo opps. But they launched over by the saddle dam. They hauled *** too! Scott Oh, and thanks for all your hard work on getting the ramp going!!!

If you are going to sign up at Last Chance Bait and Tackle I just wanted to remind you that Last Chance Bait and Tackle has moved right down the street from where they were.

The new address is 3356 Wentworth Drive in Hemet, CA. The store is on the same side as Walmart. Take Sanderson from the Expressway towards the "old shop" They are on the left hand side right after you go over train tracks.

For this event there is NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED meaning that you do not have to be a membership of National Bass West.

See you there.

By popular request we are adding a Striper "option"

The Striper "option" is another event inside the bass event. (other anglers can fish only the striper portion if they want. The anglers will get $25 and Valley Wide will get the remaining $25. We will be weighing the stripers on a separate scale (the one we are using for the trout.) We will payback 1 in 5 for the biggest striper brought into the scales. (who are in the striper "option" of course). DFG rules are that you can catch up to 10 stripers AND also have 5 bass in your livewell for this event. We will weigh only your biggest one though.

We will go out like we always do....re draw for the first boat out the morning of the event.

It is our goal to have a great event and make a lot of money for Valley Wide Recreation.

It'll be so fun to start fishing at DVL.

Any questions, please call me.

we are going to reschedule our San Diego El Capitan event since it was on the same day. We will announce the new date as soon as we get the permit.

Dave Seaberg or I will be getting in contact with all of the anglers that fished our first event and those events in the past for those anglers that were unable to attend the first event.
