A/C WRL Motherlode division

Post by mr.bass91 »

Anyone on here considering fishing these tournaments. Their schedule looks pretty good and they only let "rookies" or guys with little tournament experience or accomplishments fish them. I was going to fish them for sure but my partner told me yesterday he was not going to be able to commit (money issues). Glad he told me now and not after 1 or two events. Got another friend that I might be taking instead, he is suppose to let me know soon. Anyway I was just wanting to see if there was much interest out there for another rookie league.

This circuit will most likely pull alot of boats. It's basically combining two circuits and I wouldn't be suprised if they steal some teams from another "rookie league". Don't let the whole rookie thing fool you. Theres alot of good anglers who fish them. You've got to kick some serious butt to fish your way out of these things with the way they are set up. Alot of the mouthing off you see about these leagues as opposed to "pro team" leagues is done by people who would still qualify for them. Anyway, it's a really good option.

I too hope to fish the AC/WRL Travelers this year and I plan on fishing McClure from the Motherlode region on Dec 5th if all works as planned. I know for sure the TD Danny Peluso will run a great event. I missed most of last year and dont plan on it this year if I can help it. Come on out and check it out, the more boats the better.

On 12-5-09 there is a McClure tournament for the Mother Lode and Central Valley on the same day. The question I have is if I elect to fish the travlers divsion would fishing this tournament constitute TWO out of the 6 events needed to qualify for the TOC  Are these a combined $$$ event?

Your right Caleb!!! So can Kyle, Alex, Manzo, Robert, Brian, Peirsons, Aaron and all the rest that fish the teams up here. See the point is that why can some be able to fish all tournaments and others are only allowed to fish half?

Now if they had two tourneys there the same day someone from the rookie league will catch a bag that would of won or placed high in the pro team and then some brain child will make a post on how the rookies are better..Trust me it happens all the time.

Caleb you are a good fisherman and have fished for years and I think I am giving you a compliment saying you don't belong in these either. Kap you are in this class too! Don't short change yourself.

Yes you can beat me, but maybe not Joe!!!!

Steve and I were thinking of fishing it also, we are by no means pros, but decided to bow out and fish Nor-Cal pro teams this year. Just not right to fish the WRL , WRL & FPT are there for a reason.

Why dont they have the A/C Pro-Team events the same day as the A/C Wrl events , just combine the two ? Then just have everyone weigh in at the same time with their boat flight , so everyone can see how they stack up against the Pro-Teams ? Only difference would be when you sign up how much your entry fee would be , and what weight you catch for the day is where you finish in the tourney .
Just have the seperate payouts at the end of the day ? That would let guys see how they stack up against everyone else , and also take some of the fishing pressure off the lakes by not having so many tournaments . :)

good job poluso :!: :!: i just read the rules and hopefully you guys stick w/the guidlines.... these things are perfect for the sport, "IF YOU TD'S JUST STICK W/U'R RULES", move up those "amateurs", and move on to the "next batch" :P :P :P

Nice idea Brian, but having both events the same day would really show how bad the "ProTeams" division really is. Showing up to a team tournament with 10-15 boats in one division and seeing 50 plus boats in the other division, that you can't fish, would be pretty depressing.

It would be like going to Bass Pro Shops to buy some stuff and oh yeah, by the way, you can't shop in here, you have to shop in the closeout bin over in the corner.

Atleast we still have Mansor!

Seems like the old WRL with Randy Pringle had the right idea from the beginning Manzo. You can only hope they move up and don't just go to the "lets pay 1 in 7" circuit. They need to all have the same rules and share the names of those who need to move up.

I fished the Pro-side years ago...fished against the likes of you, Joe, Kyle, Peirsons, etc...What frustrated me, was driving to Sonora & Angels Camp 5-6 days a week from Riverbank to go to work, I would see those I fished against going to the lake. Arggg...

With two little ones I can't dedicate the time on the water needed to compete consistently(true for Semi-Pro as well), so to keep fishing tournaments I choose the less expensive "lower level" and so far it has worked.

You are correct, I can compete at the "next" level, and I will Guarantee when the day comes to move up, I will. You all better be ready

by the way...Thanks for the Kudos.

I wasn't going to chime in on this....once again....but, we all should just get rid of that crap about "Pro", "Semi-Pro", "Future Pro", and "Rookie". What a friggin joke. If you’re not going to police it and set guidelines on who is a "Pro" and who isn't and be uniformed about it why do it then? Egos? Most definitely! This is the only sport that the term "Pro" can be whoever signs up for that particular day as one. Just make it simple......."Boater" & "Non-boater" and be done with all this crap.

Interesting that so many "good sticks" are interested in this tourney series. Some are the same ones who bashed Jim Moulton for fishing the FPT. If the rules allow an angler to fish a tourney so be it and let it go. It's not the anglers fault so why attack him?

Oh geesh I can feel an onslaught of threads coming now but, I'm telling it like it is.

Oh and before anyone accuses me of hiding behind a screen name.....I'm Harry Markarian. Just speaking my peace and not attacking anyone in particular.
