Powell Crankbait rod

Post by NoCAL »

Trying to decide on a new crankbait rod. The one it is replacing is a Lamiglas XC704 which I like but it has seen better days. I am trying to replace with a Powell and can't decide which is a better direct replacement, the 702 Glass or the 704 MCB. I already have 703 Glass that I use for mid-level crankbaits. This new one will be for shallow crankbaits and ripping. Any Powell staff or other users that can help me out here?

Certainly I'm no California stick but around here in Arkansas with shallow cranks I love my 706. Superlight with great feel. We fish jetties and laydowns quite a bit around here and this rod is awesome. I basically throw everything less than a DLN on it. Lotsa 1.5's 2.5's, BDS's and some bandits. Man I just love it. No I'm not hardly a paid gun on these rods-

I would give the new Powell CB705ST a try. TW has them in stock right now.

I fish the Delta and own a 706CB and find it great for ripping.
