Someone stole my Anti-Theft chip!! Need help!

Post by semipro »

I have the under-dash anti-theft chip in my truck. The removable one that looks like a key. Someone stole it! I suspect the local Juvenile Delinquents, but that is another story.

I bought the truck used and have zero documentation on the chip (manufacturer, location of installer, etc.). No data on the mount under the dash. I know you can't just clip the wires. Anyone know where I can take the truck (Tow!) to get it fixed/replaced? Modesto area.

Thank you for any info you can provide!

The dealership should have them in stock if it isn't too old if not they can order one for you.

 LMAO. My buddy bought a burglar alarm for his Corvette. Someone broke in and stole it out of his back seat before he could install it.

I would cut it out. I believe there is 4 or 5 wires. 2 of the wires usually tap into the ignition circuit. Cut them off and resplice the main circuit. One of the mfg's that made those was Pro Lok. if its a ford hit me up. i'll be able to walk you through with removing it.

Ripb8ts -

It is a Ford! Can you give me a step-by-step for removal? One thing ... The truck turns over, just doesn't start. My neighbor has a similar system by 'Silencer' and her car doesn't even turn over when the chip is pulled. That makes me think mine just cuts off power to the fuel pump or spark-box. That sound right?

until you get it replaced or removed, i'd pull a coil wire or something incase they come back and decided to drive it away
Never argue with an idiot; He'll beat you to death with stupidity.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"
