R.I.P. My good old dog!

Post by Greg_Cornish »

Lost my good buddy Maynard tonight. He was the friendliest dog I ever had, and the loudest. He was 92 lb and 11 years old. He has had a little hip problems lately and usually a couple of aspirin cured him. Today unbeknown to us a cancer tumor was bleeding into his stomach. He had trouble getting up after lying on the cold concrete stoop. We got him into the bedroom on a soft mat and Barbara later found him lying in his own feces and urine.

We rushed him to emergency but he was in shock when we got there. There was no hope. We put him down.

We are very sad - he was family to us.

That is a tough one. I actually shed some tears when my springer died while I petted her on our cool tile floor. Best dog I ever had. I cried for a minute when my Dad died so not too teary a guy. I feel for your loss. A good dog is better than 99% of the people you will ever meet.

I like this quote I got today. "Lord, help me be the person my dog thought I was. "
