cold weather footware

i have the gore tex bibs and parka for the cold, but what are you guys wearing for cold weather footware ?

Why, Gore-Tex boots of course!

Redheads for me... one pair my regular size, for 'warmer' days when I can get away with one pair of socks, and another pair a size larger for when I need to wear my Underarmour socks under a pair of Redhead wool socks.

Gore-Tex keeps 'em dry, and layers keep 'em warm. Wool is king for really cold days.

ya i have a pair of rocky gore tex boots that i use to wear on the tarmack at lax... but their regular 6" work boots and their kinda of bulky.... just wondered about something more comfortable... what you wearing tunaman ? i like a semi high top for some ankle support while on the boat, and good site or links for some good footware.. thank you also

I live down in SD so the weather's not to terribly cold. I wear Xtratuff brown boots. The same footwear I have worn for basically my whole life working on sportboats. They are %100 waterproof, have plenty of room to add layers and with the right insoles will keep you comfy all day. I'm a big guy and have enjoyed their comfort for over 20 years. The price point is going to be a lot lower than gortex.

Cabela's sells a gortex hiking shoe, I think it's called. It's like a tennis shoe, light weight, with good arch support and a hiking sole.
They're $79+-, on sale right now.
More $ if you buy the leather tops. I don't.

I wear a 9 1/2 American, but these are made in China, so the 10 1/2 fits me perfect.
I wear a pair of Merino wool socks and these shoes, and my feet stay warm and dry no matter what the weather.

Ok, What do you wear that does not tear up the boat carpet. I have my Rocky's and other boots but I think the carpet will show some serious wear real quick. Anyone know of some cold weather footwear without the offroad traction.

My Cabela's shoes don't tear up my boat carpet.
And they don't slip in the wet.

Ditto. Insulated for the cold, cold days, uninsulated for the wet days when the temps do not get below 50.

I used to do Seal skins and tennis shoes.
Keeping my feet dry to begin with, with Gortex, makes a world of difference.
I had my tennis shoes get wet and frozen at Pyramid one year.

Really how cold does it get in CA??? i bounce back and forth between CA, and Milwaukee WI for work, and it makes me chukle to hear some people say its cold when temps are in the mid 30s to 40's. Im in WI right now (gotta come home for the holidays) and its about 2 degrees, but up until last week (temps were in the high 20's) i saw plenty boaters still out. a good hoodie and a pair of wool socks with your sneakers is all the "cold weather" gear needed up here in the midwest, i guess since im originally from the midwest the 30 degree "cold fronts" dont bother me as much.

When it's in the 20s or 30s, the sun is not up and the wind is blowing, it does'nt matter where you're from, it's cold. I'm also looking for a nice pair of boots that are warm, waterproof and will not tear up my carpet. I always fish in my Vans, but last month I fished a tournament where it had snowed that morning and by the time it was time to launch, it had turned into slush. Bottom line, the first step I took out of my truck my feet were wet, I was able to hang, but it mad me realize I need to get a pair of boots.

I spent 20 years or so in Indiana so I know what your saying I fished all year around NEVER Wintersized my boat and the only time I ever put boots on was in Real Rain
I fish the silverwood in snow rain wind whatever and a pair or 2 of socks and my sneakers and I'm fishing

This year I will say I think my blood has got THIN again cause I'm feeling the cold ALOT More

any body wear gore-tex trail running shoes? ive been looking at a pair from saloman. i hate the bulk of boots and these trail running shoes are very light and more the size of a sneaker.
