Heres something different. I saw this a while back and asked for a side view to see if it was actually a Champion. Yep. Didn't know they offered one.
What do you think Mikey(Mike Van Wagner) you were still in Paso Robles, probably before working at Rubins?
I don't know enough, to leave well enough alone.

wow it is a champ. I have never seen this style before. I will say that any tunnel hull boats I have been in do not go in reverse well at all. they need a lot of room to manuver.

Tunnel hull boats are the most stable fishing platforms. They do not roll the way a V hull does. They also draft a lot less water (not as big of a deal out here as back east) and generally speaking are better on fuel. That being said today's boats are designed better and have compensated for the advantages of a tunnel. Adjustable jack plates allow for shallower drafts of V hulls than in the past, hull changes to increase fishing stability and fuel economy have made tunnels obsolete. Also it is much easier to trailer a V hull and as stated before tunnels are much less maneuverable both in reverse and forward.
I would rather jog home from my own Vasectomy than spend Saturday at the mall.

I know you young bucks wont remember this. But at this time monarch had a tunnel hull.
I was looking for my 3rd bass boat about then, and was impressed with what they could
Do. Monarch fielded 5 at the Lake Mead tournament, 3 split in half, and the other 2
Were damaged so severely they were out also. That’s why I ended up with at the time a
Stratos 201. With today’s technology they might be violable. This would be a good project
And when finished hang it on the wall like the SR-71.
