That's good news as I'm getting tired of it slapping me when I'm running or forgetting it when I leave home. The Warden stamp is allright but the down side is the administration takes 20% right off the top for every one purchased. I'm all for the Wardens getting the equipment they need as they have one of the most dangerious law enforment jobs out there but against losing a buck off every one to the administration really galls me. What they charge for a hunting and fishing license in California should more than cover their costs without taking it away from the Wardens. Of course, this is going to continue until they take the politics out of the Fish and Game like every other state. Sorry for the rant, but hopefully someday a proposition will come on the ballot to do this.

Hate to throw water on the party, but the Warden stamp is just another tax, the state came up with to waste more money on themselves. Wardens, like all peace officers in Kalifornia, get training funds via POST and other means, i.e. portion of fines taken in court case's, etc. for training.
I for one, will not waste money on one. Sorry folks, next it will be a CHP stamp, USF, etc. Bill K :o

That's a big hope Dan but I'm with you on this.

It's always got under my skin the way the State of California preaches so much about bass conservation, but with all of revenue generated from tournament permits and bass angler licenses, they do absolutely nothing the replenish the resource.

One more point guys and gals. A Lt. Y. Adams returned my email with the info that the license still will have to be worn outside and above the waist. She said no change in the regulation.
Other release's said it has been.
There is a movement, in Kalifornia, to email, phone or write letters to the F&G and ask them to repeal the regulation.
All of you can help in this, by doing so. If they get many, many requests then, just maybe, they would, for sure, change the regulation.
So start contacting them. Please. Bill K :)

Bill - The regulation was adopted on December 10. However, the new regulation takes effect on March 1, 2010. So.... anglers are required to wear their licenses only until then.

The regulation change is so recent, that new materials have not been printed and distributed to law enforcement yet. The Office of Administrative Law must review all new regulations and verify that the regulation was changed according to law. That process usually takes a couple of weeks. After that, new code sections will be printed and distributed to law enforcement personnel.

Thank you Glenn. I have been getting different answers from DFG
personal. Would really be nice, if they all, had the correct word, so
they can answer questions correctly. Again Thank you. Bill K :)

All this effort for a display of a license?

This effort, and money, should be directed to the real issues to actually HELP the anglers, environment, and fisheries.

Non of this is doing that....

Sorry, but I fail to see how all this hoopla is "aiding" anglers at this point....

Aiding anglers? Im being aided because now I dont have to display my license on my clothing? Is this some sick sensationalism to make anglers think the commission is actually doing something positive for us? How many of us even displayed our licenses anyway? What a joke.

Aided for two reasons, in my opinion. First, only dogs have to wear a lic in California or at least in most city's. A way to make tax money, etc. What would be next, your driver's lic visible around your neck while driving ?
Second, I am tired of looseing them when we take go full throttle
in the boat (sure I should remember to hold on or cover it) but I am not the only one do so and then have to purchase another as they do not honor the reciept issued with your lic purchase.
It is a nuisance and some have even had the darn thing hangup on stuff in the boat while it dangles from your neck on the cord, etc.
Not, maybe, a big thing, but it is just no necessary. If a person in
authority wants to see it, ask like the old wardens did for years and year. Bill K

It's a token gesture at best, but much better than worrying about a ticket from one of those "by the book Billy" warden's for sure.
