Only the top 5 fish on day four. Wonder why they dropped it from the top 10. Did anyone else notice this part?

Being the cut the entry fee in half, less income for them....They pay the observer X amount of money per boat on the last day. Plus you have too or they save money that they didn't receive on the film crew.

The real reason has to do with camera crews. The more boats equals more camera crews.

They used to have 10-12 camera guys and the decline in resources is causing them to cut back like everyone else.

All of the camera guys are freelance which means money and expenses for everyday they are on the job.

Putting on those events are a lot more than just paying an entry and going fishing. There is a huge production behind the scenes that costs thousands of dollars.

Makes sense... Although they could have just put camera boats on the top 5, or rotated them around.

Well, not exactly. The camera guys are also the observer and you cannot fish without the camera crew. They are strick on that.

I am not saying that I agree with it but that's big business. It's good for the top five because they will get more tv time.

Its bad for people trying to get their way paid for though. That many less people on tv each year. Im not talkin about me, but some big names wont get their sponsors name on tv because they got 6th. Thats not right. Oh well, life goes on.
