Might want to give them a call. I know that they are tracking down the balance from the pros right now.

Call them they'll let you know.

That's strange, I thought there computer systems doesn't show a count for how many pro's are confirmed or entered. That's what they tell me every time i ask.

I just talk to Hover and he said they are in the middle of the 'audit' as we were speaking.. Might be late tonight or tomorrow before they have it all in order. Kinda sad to have to wait this late to get confirmation.

If you are looking for a ride or to share a room,

Jesse Fortham has both and is also taking his boat if you need someone to prefish with.

To get a hold of Jesse call 619 456 8968

Jesse will be departing out of San Diego.

they know exactly how many people have signed up. I could keep track on paper... they should be able to keep track with a program designed for their tournaments. I really believe they should be proud of their efforts here in the west and this new policy of not giving less than full field numbers doesn't give us an opportunity to recruit more anglers. You can get the info that the co field is full but nothing concrete about the pros. We had a fantastic first year and an economic disaster following.

We love to fish and FLW by far pays the best. We should all be very thankfull for all of the opportunities we have had and capitalized on. I really hope we can rebuild what we had here in the years past and even if it isn't as huge as it has been maybe we can make it more consistant

I spoke with Cheryl on FLW's customer service line this afternoon and she said they were working to have the co-angler list up to date by the end of today. I'll be calling tomorrow to check in and hopefully get some sort of an idea so I can make arrangements up there or think of other tournament options. I checked out the college fishing page today and I really like how they showed who and who hasn't signed up yet. I'd like to see something similar for us pro's/co's I think it would make things much smoother and probably save them some breath when we all call to see the status. I hope to get in I think this is going to be a good tourney with some good bags showing up. Had some quality fish this year outta there :D

I just called (8:15 am PST) and discovered I'm #2 on the waiting list, however "once they sort through the priority stuff" the dude said I should move up and I should go ahead and start making arrangements.

He also said they plan to have confirmations heading out by the close of business today. Which might mean y'all should see something via email by tomorrow morning.

I'm fishing as a Co, so if there's any Pro's with a backseat available for a day or two of practice, I would be very interested and appreciative. Just drop me a PM.

I just received my confirmation email that I'm in as a coangler for the Shasta event. I signed up for all 4 events and I'm a ranger boat owner. I signed up at 7:00am online the first day Ranget boat owners could sign up.

Any pro's looking for a prefish partner for all 3 days (or at least 1 day)? I'm willing to cover all your fuel costs for the boat during prefish and make sure your tanks are completely full before the day 1 event. Heck show up to the tournament with the tanks bone dry if you like. Consider it a sponsorship. :)

I'm flying into Sac as I have a free round trip ticket via southwest. Staying at the motel 6 as it's the least expensive with the best "atmosphere" that Redding had to offer :)

Just got a call from FLW saying that I was number 6 on the waiting list and they just need 30 more pros for a full field.

Something new they are doing this year is that if you sign up with a pro for one event you are not guaranteed a spot. You have to sign up to all 4 events to gaurantee your spot.

Yeah I found that out just a couple days ago. I call BS on that. We have to make travel plans, vacation time, raise money and many other things that go into a tournament. I signed up with a "pro" on the 17th and then find out 3 days ago that I might not get in. I wasn't very happy about this. Sorry I don't have a ton of money to confirm and might not be able to get all thee time off that I need to in order to fish all 4. BUT at this point I am planning on fishing all 4. IMO if you sign up with a "pro" you should be in regardless. I have supported FLW since the 1st time I fished with them. I have gotten others to fish with them and put them on my jersey last year yet right now I feel like I am nobody to them. As a co-angler to travel as far as I will have to this year to fish all 4 on top of the lower pay-outs is going to be tough for me but i am trying. Think about this,if i finish around 8-10th in all 4 tournaments I will still probably lose money BUT I will make the championship and to me that it the prize a the end of the rainbow. This to me is support.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Most of what I read is about communicating with the organization. Did you all call the TD and let FLW know what you were planning to do?

From what was explained to me you can only sign up with a pro after the entry deadline "if" you are planning to enter one event. I only found that out because I called and asked because I wanted to get the info from the source.

Just talked with Chris Hoover about the numbers. 35 pro's short. A heads up to anyone on the fence about this event..... the cut off to sign up is this coming Monday January 4th. Coming to town during the three day prefish and fishing before you decide to pony up the dough will not work anymore. Signing up at the pre-tournament meeting is a no go unless they are a couple of boats shy of a full field. Good, bad, or indifferent that is what the rule is. I personally have mixed feelings about it. As of right now I am sitting 17th on the wait list and signed up as soon as my priority time slot was available. By not allowing fisherman to sign up at the last minute I may not get to fish. I knew this going in as my personal priorities outweigh my fishing, therefore I could not sign up for all 4. If any of you co's know pro's on the fence pass this on. There are a bunch of boats here at the lake so hopefully they will fill up the field.

That's weird cause it says right there on there website that there final entry date is 1/12 which is the last day of practice.

These are the 2010 rules. About halfway down it stipulates no entry fees will be accepted AFTER first day of off limits has concluded which is this Monday. I do however see where it says on the circuit page about the day before the tourney being the cutoff. They must have missed this.

I signed up on the 17th and when I talked to Chris Hover today he said I was 40th on the waiting list.I was planning on fishing all 4 but I guess I will be fishing none. This really sucks and you cant find a pro this year to sign up after deadline and the cutoff is Monday for sign ups.Poor planning by FLW is why some of us will be at home.Alot of pros cant afford a tournament that close to Christmas. :?:  :?:

Just got this email moments ago:

Dear John,

We still have room for pros in the 2010 FLW Series National Guard Western Division opener on Lake Shasta. With an entry fee of only $2,000, we feel sure it’s going be a great year for our Western anglers.

The deadline to enter is Monday, Jan. 4. You can enter online at www.flwoutdoors.com or by calling 270.252.1000. If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to contact Chris Hoover, your tournament director, at 270.252.1585 or by e-mail at choover@flwoutdoors.com.

Respectfully,

It's possible that some pro's did opt out after finding out there sign up/travel partners were not in even though they signed up with a pro.

Did you call? Curious to hear what they said.

At the beginning of December I actually called FLW and suggested that they start the Lake Shasta entry dates earlier. I told them that with the holiday's and whatnot, people would have a heck of time scheduling the time off if they didn't know wether or not they were going to be in until ten days prior. This also makes it tough to schedule a prefish if you aren't local.

They responded with an email that stated that they put a lot of time and effort into picking the entry dates for the circuit. I hope they are reading these threads that are on all of the fishing boards. Perhaps next time they will attempt to listen to some feedback.

That being said, I'm glad the FLW is on the west coast, but you pretty much had to be retired or not working to try and schedule this one if you had much travel. They should have called it the no prefish Lake Shasta tourney.
