My favorite frog is the 3:16 frog. It gives lifelike action, and is true weedless because you rig it yourself. I use a 5/0 Gamakatsu G-Loc worm hook on it fish it with 30Lb Braid.

The only frog I use is the Snag Proof Bobby's perfect frog. My favorite color would have to be the sparrow. Over the next couple of months keep an eye out on the sparrows in Discovery Bay, around bridges or docks. Once you see them start building their nests have that bait tied on and twitch-twitch-pause around those areas. In Disco I've seen a number of fish over 5lbs sit directly under the nests waiting for one of the birds to fall out for an easy meal.

Usually this bite stats to pick up about the second or third week of Feb after the normal warming trend that starts the Cherry Blossom bloom (pink or white flowers). Once that bloom hits spend every moment you can on the water for the next month. The bite will be awesome.

+1 for the Sparrow, Snag Proof. That has been my favorite frog for a long time. I also like the Cicada in Bobby's Perfect Frog. Besides color Bobby's Perfect Frog is my favorite and the only one I throw. In my experiences it is the most consistent and best performing.

With a frog color named after me, I might be a tad biased {LOL}, but I'll speak from my honest experience .

For open water, I like the "Bobby's Perfect Frog" designed by SnagProof Pro staffer and Cal-delta Bass guide, Bobby Barrack in any pattern that has a white belly.

For heavy gack, then the fish will probably not even see the frog, but rather feel iot's presence through the thick matted weed, and possibly a shadow created by the frog, a black frog is what I'd suggest. Same with going with the Black color at night.

For water with a green tinge to it, I like a frog with a chartruese belly, like my namesake which I designed for those conditions, "The Wild BullFrog" color pattern by SnagProof.

SnagProof Frogs are made in America, too !!
Great people to deal with.

The tip about fishing the "Sparrow" color pattern under bridge is the real deal, too. No BS there. I have seen it happen myself after hearing about it..

Ish's Phat Frog is....well perfect. It walks great, the body of the frog doesn't slide, water doesn't get inside (the hook is run through a channel instead of the body), there is really no modifications needed. Just open up the pack and fish.

I've only had them out a couple times, in less than ideal frog weather. I have found that most frogs will start taking on water fairly quickly after a couple fish or snags. It usualy takes me awhile to "tune" a frog so it walks the way I want it to. The Phat Frog walks great, spits a little right out of the package. I will have to see how they hold up, but I don't see that as a problem.

For me, it's the River2Sea Croaker/Bully Wa 65, hands down. Soft, yet durable body, and an excellent strike to catch ratio. The Yellow-Head color is probably my favorite, followed by Coot and Ghost for clear water. Great frog!

I would have to go with Ish's Phat Frog. I've yet to seriously fish it yet, but I threw one out just to check out the performance. Walking, bouyancy and all that, and I can tell you already, sorry Bobby, but I'm tossing all my old frogs and replacing them with Phats.

Really like Reaction Innovations Swamp Donkey, and believe it or not, I throw a lot of Scum Frogs...I know they are not used very much, but they catch fish for me.

My fav was the bobby's perfect frog, but I hate the recent changes they have made. I think the Phat frog will be next for me.

Froteur,
"Sparrow" is a whitish belly[with tiny black speckles] with a dark brown back, and chocolate-brown and black 'leg' strands.

What is the "HH Frog" ?
Who makes it ?
Is it a limited production run, or a customized lure ?

I have never seen one like that.

Looks more like an "Alien" than a Frog, but if it catches the tar out of Bass, I am interested.

Please clue a "wrong-coast" guy in.
Thanks !

Spro by far, They have a great hook-up percentage, cast further and last longer. In FLorida I fished frogs year-round and the Spro just held up better and pulled more bites. The other frogs were too soft and got hung up on cover to easy. I would say River2sea is also right up there..
