Predict the future of delta bass fishing

Post by jazzwannabe »

Will the delta's fishery collapse or endure? What do you see coming down the road? How far off? Feel free to weigh in on other California fisheries as well — I'd like to read your opinions.

I think there will always be bass, both LM and Striped but size will diminish, soon enough you'll be lucky to get a 4lb trophy instead of the PIgs the DElta has produced in the past.

I think the future on the Delta is very bright for those that take time to learn other areas that hold larger populations of fish that have been un touched by anglers and or poachers, and or the seals.

Last year I had one of the best seasons ever on the Delta for numbers and big fish, with three top 10s in areas of the Delta that I have been waiting 10 years to produce. All indications is that these areas have been missed by many anglers that have been focusesing their time in the known areas of the Delta.

Between the poachers and the pumps the delta is on a decline.

I'M AFRAID WE'VE SEEN IT'S BEST.

Sure, there are a few isolated areas such as Ricky has pointed out. However, the overall quality of fishing, will probably never be what we've seen in past years.

I'm speaking to the overall fishery now, not just largies.
