Post by DougH »

Ya baby!

Has anybody got any info on your lake level?
Has the levels gone up yet?

How many feet has it come up?

Up here on the central coast Naci has come up 10 feet, No info found on Margi, but I am sure it has made a big jump in level.....Been out here at Diablo Power plant all day and it has been CRAZY...5, yes 5 large sail boats broke off their morrings and are either on the rocks or on the beach...sad to see such a loss.

According to the Monterey County Water Resources, Naci level hasn't move much more than a foot or two!

I checked with the CDW sites on other lakes like Berryessa and McClure, at most, it's moved is 1-3' ... Oroville has risen 10', Shasta has risen 24' and that's the most that I've seen on the Department of water resources page.

Oroville is coming up, but, as the water has started raising they have quadrupled their releases, from 1000 csf to 4000 csf. Someone needs arrested

But here comes the heartbreaker guys all this rain, will be released! Yep, Its standard to keep the resevoirs low, so that when the snowmelt comes or end of seasosn stom the resevoirs can absorb the water, and prevent flooding.

Don Pedro has to be below a certain level, I'm not sure what that is, until sometime in early April, then the Dept. of Water Resources will turn control back to TID, and they will start to fill it as high as they can.

Doug,

I have been in the hospital with my family as my grandfather is fighting for his life after brain surgery.

But I've heard Casitas has gone up a pitiful 1.5 feet. The most incredible invention ever, the Fish ladder screens, have been clogged..not getting any flow to the lake. (That is sarcastic too)

So nothing Casitas way...

I just talked with a friend who saw on another site that the diversion gates to bring water to Casitas were not able to be shut to divert water to Casitas. He had read that they did not clean the channel that they were in and debris was keeping them from closing. I hope this is not true but if it is someone should get in trouble for it.

I went to the lake and took a peek and it looks like about 1.5' up and they have not needed to adjust the launch docks yet. Eric I hope your grandfather is doing well.

Not a lot in the vertical sense out at Elsinore yet, but Canyon Lake is now spilling. This evening's flow of the San Jacinto River topped the old cfs record from 1916! It is coming hard. Will get an official measurement tomorrow around lunch time.

The watersheds in the Santa Lucia's got 9-11 inches out of these storms.

Not bad and the next one is Monday for us.

I heard Cachuma was closed... Debris maybe?

I know it fills fast, anybody hear about that one?

How about Lopez? That lake is slow to fill up for some reason.

Praying for as much water as possible. Freshly flooded flats make for great spawns!!

Not sure on those Lakes. I was refering to the area that feed's the Nacimiento and San Antonio rivers.

Those lakes really need it but Nacimiento didnt even store any from a big storm we had the first of November. The watershed got about 6" then and the lake never rose. That lake will fill fast if you let it.

What they are trying to do is fill the Valleys aquafure's.

2ft as of yesterday is pretty sad with all the rain!

I do know that the screens need to be lifted in order for Casitas to fill...

if they don't it will be another LOW level year at Casitas despite the enormous amounts of rain and water rushing down the Ventura River.
