Tom wanted to thank everyone who watched live today. He's on the 5 right now on his way home.

As he said he is no Chris Jones but he'll be getting better.... and we all know he is better than Hoover.

The sound problems were noted and will be fixed by the next weigh in. Basically the microphone was needed for the people in the parkign lot, but it made the sound on the computer crappy. Without the microphone the sound was good for the computer but those in the parking lot couldn't hear.

Tom has a solution and will rectify it.

DVL is gonna be a big fish fest next week so make sure to tune in and watch it live as 10 more anglers qualify to for the next step in the journey to become the California State Champion.. ( which now also includes a wrapped boat from Mike Rees at Sign a Rama)

Results are posted on another site. I don't have time right now to post them - I am headed down I-5 at 80mph. Not sure how long my connection will last. feel free to copy and paste them over here.

As for the sound.... I will have that fixed in time to announce Rick G's 40 pound sack next Friday at DV. It was a problem with the PA System - amplifying my voice - and then the computer amplifying it again.... I swear it sounded as decent as my voice can sound at the event. When I gave the mic to the anglers - typically it wasn't close enough to their mouth to work through the PA System - so it sounded good to you - but, nobody there could here it. I will work these kinks out this week.

The other problem was the power cord to the camera was kicked out of the socket.... Hmmmmmm I won't mention who did it but, he was in the Big Bait Posse DVD - LOL - No bigge, we got it back up and started right where we left off.

I can't speak for the anglers but, it seemed like everyone enjoyed it.

We tried to take a few steps to make this event feel more like an "event" and these are just the local events.

Lastly, the lighting and everything for the video stunk - we were crammed under a 20x10 foot tent for everything - because all the equipment couldn't get wet. AND IT POURED for several hours of the day.

Congrats to the qualifiers! See everyone at DVL next week - still about 7 spots left - so lets fill it up! I can assure you it will be one of the most fun events you fish this year. Just be patient and enjoy it. We aren't racing through the launch, weigh in or anything else. Just taking our time - being safe and having some fun! Next week 10 more will move on to the regionals!

Randy McAbee Jr. with 15 and change. Jamie Faulconer was second (WAY TO GO JAMIE!), Siemantel was 3rd, and Mike "Sign-A-Rama" Reese was fourth. I think it took about 8 1/2 pounds to make the Top-10.

We got a few bugs to work out. Tom says he has fixes for them already. I talked to a few anglers and things seemed really positive. We had a low turn out but we will work harder to fill the rest. Tom really has some great ideas. Thanks to all that braved the weather today. 10 guys are DONE!!!! McAbee is still fishing good!!

Don't let the BDO show - it's "McAbee is still fishing well" - That is for sure. He's going to be a force on the FLW Tour this year.

Speaking of that the LeftCoast has at least 3 amazing anglers going back east next year for the first time. It's going to be a heated battle for Rookie of the Year and I bet they may contend for AOY as well. Check out these names making their first trip to the ugly side of the u.s. In no particular order -

We all discussed it several time and we decided that we are not offering any options at the local events - for several reasons. However, if you guys want to add a side pot between yourselves that's up to you.

We really feel fishing for top 10 is a different strategy than fishing for some cash for winning. Look at Bill S. and Troy L. yesterday They stopped fishing at 10:00 AM to conserve their fish for tomorrow- they felt they had enough to make the top 10 and stopped. Had there been even a few hundred bucks on the line they may have had a different strategy. Our event is different, just make the "cut" and move on to the next day.... the cash is there but, you just have to manage your way through the event to get it.

I am pretty sure Randy McAbee Jr. is content with moving to the regionals even though he took the win with a helluva bag!
