What's the pro's and cons of the 2500 vs the 1000 size. line twist less with the 2500? I'm using 6 and 8 lb test but I know lots of guys like the bigger reels for less twist? Not a spinning reel junkie......so need some expert opinions

Its a line capacity thing mostly. With the older designs using a larger reel did help with line twist issues. Our new designs allow the same performance no matter the size of the reel. I use 4-5# on my 1000 and 6-8 pound on my 2500 reels. I do this simply for line capacity and line retrieval reasons.

yep, I followed B1's advice and though I don't use that much, I haven't seen any difference in performance 1000 vs. 2500.
