AC Western Pro-Am’s announce Lake Shasta Date Change

Post by Bill Cook »

Anglers Choice Western Pro-Am’s announce Lake Shasta Date Change

Coming off the heels of the successful Lake Oroville event held this past weekend, Angler’s Choice Pro-Am competitors are looking forward to the next stop of the season at Lake Shasta.

In an effort to accommodate angler schedules and avoid conflicts with other circuits, Anglers Choice has worked in conjunction with the California Department of Fish and Game, Bridge Bay Resort, and the U.S. Department of Forestry to move off of the heavily contested March 27-28th weekend. The new date for the Anglers Choice Lake Shasta Pro-Am event will be April 17-18th.

“We have listened to the fishermen and after discussions with our anglers and advisory committee members, we wanted to move our event away from the other circuits fishing on that weekend in Marchâ€

Great move guys  Count me in. Finally looks like someone listened to what the ANGLERS wanted.

Now I am really kicking myself for not being at the first one, but couldn't miss school that weekend. Looks like you guys will pick up some boats and so will WCB.

Seems like a little late in the game for a change and the fact that cool april nights in redding will log jam all the hotels good luck to all the out of towners. And the fact the lake will be starting to get busy with vacationers and wake boarders. I really think your talking about maybe 5 to 10 boats total anglers choice will pick up from the change.

Thanks AC. Now more of us can fish both WCB and AC. The Delta is going to go off with the moon phase late this month and Shasta is good all the time so a couple of killer tournaments coming up.

You really think the lake will be busy mid April? NO not at all. Parking could be a little fun since the houseboats at Bridge Bay will still be out of the water.

Good call Angler's Look forward to fishing this now :)

Major Props to A/C :D and the staff that made the date change!
Now if Larry can move the other West Coast conflicting date that would be a great concession on his part. Working together. Whoever would have thunk it

There will be three Pro Am events at Shasta in the coming weeks. If he can stay on em, he'll cash some nice checks.

April 2-3 WON
April 17-18 Angler's Choice
April 24-25 WCB

We didn't have a problem booking the room after the announcement of the date change was made. We booked our room with ease this morning. I bet the numbers are much greater than 5-10 boats. I know of 6 including myself that will be fishing this event because there is no conflict, and this is just 1 day after the story broke!

+1, Way to step up USAC! Thank you for making a switch! It's a win win! Hopefully wcb will do the same for there may 15-16 event on the delta so that we don't have to choose Clear Lake vs. Delta in mid may!
